Cassidy Reshoots "Blade Runner"

Quote:
Here's a surprising factoid - twenty five years after its theatrical release, new scenes were shot for Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner" it would seem.

...

In any case this week saw a surprising new twist in the story. Actress Joanna Cassidy, famous for playing the Replicant Zhora in "Blade Runner", released the following comment on her official site:

"Joanna has just finished re-shooting her scenes from the original BLADE RUNNER movie. Joanna is wearing her original outfit (which she kept over from the first production). These new scenes will be part of the upcoming special BLADE RUNNER DVD re-release. Check back for more details."

There's a line from Frasier, where Niles talks about how great it is to have a wonderfully prepared meal with one tiny flaw that he can endlessly pick at, but what's with having THREE versions of the movie on disc two?

That's making me a little nervous. Because, goddamn, I hate seamless branching and DVD-18s. And that's the only way I can see three different cuts being included on a single disc without blowing the compression.

Interesting, especially if they really include the workprint - that would be the first time the workprint for a major studio's film saw a (legal ) release...

Obviously I would have to wait for a normal box in a sane size, though.

Yeah if these discs aren't released on R1 then Warner Bros. are bunch of damn fools. Money to be had with this one.

Not only on DVD but reportedly the Final cut will be release theatrically as well. Hopefully there will be a showing close enough to me that I'll be able to see this on the big screen.

if this shows up on R1 I certainly hope they have a version that does not come in a briefcase, thats a bit of overkill for packaging imo, I'd have nowhere to put that except in storage, I certainly have no room on my entertainment shelf for that

I don't like the new trailer, but the fact that it's coming to theatres means I will take the day off and rewatch this film as many times as the day allows.

When's the scheduled release date? This might become my ultimate movie-going experience. (Next to Alien, of course.)
