The MGM Midnite Movies double feature of Empire of the Ants & Tentacles is fine as far as dvd quality goes: transfer quality, widescreen presentation, trailers included. As for the movies themselves - they are nothing to get excited about despite some A-list names present.

I don't have the Evil Animals triple feature from Shriek Show, but I do have all three individual dvds. Bought each one separately as they came out. Love all three of these films immensely. Watch Leslie Nielsen wrestle a bear in Day of the Animals. Nice extras on these three, not 100% sure if they are on the triple feature package. They probably are.

I'm a sucker for these retro nature run amok horror films and tend to buy all of these.

I'm sure the Evil Animal set is the same as the individual releases. The TENTACLES/EMPIRE OF THE ANTS DVD is nice. TENTACLES looks immaculate!

There has been talk of the MGM Midnite Movies line returning to dvd in the near future. Food of the Gods is from the AIP library, so it's a strong candidate for an upcoming dvd in the Midnite Movie line. Pamela Franklin stars in this movie. More of her horror films deserve to be on dvd.

The media blasters box sets use the identical discs as the individual releases. They'll even toss recalled discs in the mix just to get rid of'em. Awfully thoughtful of'em.

Empire of the Ants and Food of the Gods would have made an excellent double feature. Even still Tentacles is a lot of euro fun, the theme song's a great jazz number that appeared again in Paul Naschy's Night of the Werewolf. Hopefully MGM will release Food of the Gods with the rumored resurrection of Midnite Movies.

I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords.

Up from the Depths was a New World Pictures release exec produced by Roger Corman. Anchor Bay has put out a lot of the New World catalog, so it might be in their hands?

Great White seems like more of a longshot factoring in the lawsuit from Universal against this movie. I heard of an overseas dvd release with French audio only and no English subtitles.

I've never seen either of these movies, but sure want to!

Yeah, off the top of my head I know that's the case with the Zombie Pack. Zombie 3 was reissued with commentary, but when you buy the box set you could be getting the new single disc with or the old single disc without the commentary. You won't know until you've open the boxset.

I believe there's been some complaints about other Packs from Media Blasters as well with "do I or don't I?" problems just like that but I know that's the case with the Zombie Pack. There's been a few silently reissued corrected transfers on single discs that are up for grabs in these boxsets.

Someone commented in a recent thread (don't know the exact link/thread) on here that they didn't receive the corrected disc of Hell High that's included in the High School Horrors 3-pack.
