Messiah of Evil (Dead People)...worth checking out?

I've heard a few good things about this 70's cheapie. Is it worth seeking out? I did watch the supermarket scene on Youtube. Someone had more scenes posted, but I didn't want to watch anymore. Is the entire movie pretty good? It has that low-budget 70's look I love, so I'm probably sure to enjoy it. If a movie has Anitra Ford from the The Price Is Right getting attacked by zombies, it gotta be worth a watch? It sort of makes me think of an early version of "Dead and Buried" or something.

I love this film. Its weird, creepy and scary. Its a shame there is no decent DVD release though but still worth seeking out.

Yes it's worth checking out, it has a great chilling atmosphere through the entire film.

Yeah, it's pretty good. Doesn't make a whole lotta sense, but worth checking out.

And if you get the DVD, you also get the flick The Devil's Nightmare, which is also not too bad.

sidenote: I watched Annie Hall last night, and Messiah of Evil was on a marquee in the background.

Cool, also, another sidenote: on the Grindhouse movie website, there was a feature to make your own grindhouse trailer, and there were clips in there from Messiah of Evil, among some other flicks.

Messiah of Evil is pretty damn good for an obscure, low-budget film in the vein of Night of the Living Dead. It isn't a masterpiece, but definitely worth seeing. It has some genuinely creepy moments, that's for sure.

I just watched this again last night and it's got some really great creepy scenes. I would love to see a good quality DVD of this someday, but it probably won't happen.

Actually, I didn't think the quality of the 50 Chilling Classics box set version was that bad! At least it is one of the best transfers in that set.
