Mr.Cool -> John Phillip Law

Right,watching Death Rides a Horse again today.
Great film but man,why is JP Law so uncool?
I just can't take him seriously.The dubbing (his own voice) doesn't seem to help either.
He's trying so hard to be Clint.

Don't get me wrong,he's a fine actor and I liked him in Danger: Diabolik! and Whisper in the Dark but for some reason I don't think he was the right person for this part.

If all this was actually on purpose though,the naivity of Bill Meceita who desperately wants to be a hero of the west,the emotionlessness,I don't think it's too obvious.

Still it's a great (minor classic) film and Giulio Petroni is (was?) a master.

Come to think of it.I watched Navajo Joe last year and talking about strange choices for leads:Burt Reinolds as an Indian?Puhlease!
Anything for the $$$$.

Worthy of another thread

i liked Death Rides A Horse and thought that Law was adequate, but his part could have surely been played by a lot of other people (for example Gianni Garko, to name but a single person).
