Question The Exorcist.....A Prequel?

Has anyone else read/heard about this planned film? From what I've read/heard, it's to deal with Father Merrin's first experience with an exorcism...something that was referred to in the 1973 original film.

Yup, But then I heard plans were put on hold for some reason or another. But who knows? It may come out next year at this time. I think they wanted to do a Halloween thing but didn't make it, so it's on hold.

Thumbs up

The film has received the green light - the director is the guy who made Jason 6...I don't think they've cast Merrin yet.

I read that Max Von Sydow was doing it. I can't remember where now, but I remember because the article made a big deal about him not having to use make-up to look old for it.

Of couse who knows if it will even get made let alone casting rumors. Grain of salt.

Personally, I can't wait. I loved Exorcist 3. Now, I hope that they avoid the trappings of part 2 (it was exactly like one of the Italian rip-offs of the original). If they can persuade Max Von Sydow to return, it will be perfect. I mean, Max certainly doesn't make bad films.
