The internet movie database shows that the new Hellraiser movie will star Kirsty from the original Hellraiser and Tiffany from Hellraiser 2, does anyone know any other details about this movie?

Sounds promising. Rick Bota has some interesting credits to his name...maybe the series can be put back on track. Personally, I'd welcome a return to basics, i.e. nothing too weird or wonderful...just an extension of the Hellraiser universe created in the first 2 movies.
This is one sequel I am actually looking forward to. (Would have been good to see Pete Atkins or Clive Barker assisting with the script, though. Still, I live in hope...) |

Hellraiser 3 certainly wasn't the worst either!

I wouldn't know - I stopped at two. When I saw "CD Man" on the tv trailers, I knew to stay the Hell away, every ounce of pun intended. I'd love to see a good sequel, and it's a damned (hey, more pun fun!) good sign that both Ashley Laurence and Imogen Boorman are willing to revisit the series. By the way, does anyone know if Imogen is related to John Boorman? He's got some kick-ass movies under his belt.

I actually think HR4 is better than HR3. Although Bloodlines did stuff up in a few places it took a different approach which I felt was interesting and original.
It also delved on the Le Merchand history. |

I'd have to agree with Redowl - H3 was just treading out the same old ground, really (ie, open box -> demons come -> rip you apart). H4 had some new ideas / approach, although the execution may not have been the best. I find it hard to really comment on what H4 would have been like as it was Alan-Smitheed...
And personally, I founf H5 a breath of fresh air. I liked the story, and I liked that it was going somewhere different, and makes you think. It is really starting to grow on me, that film. |
