What movies are you planning to watch in October/on Halloween?
Got that Fright Flick list ready to share? Any scary movie recommendations?
Myself gonna reserve October for horror (and old school sci-fi) only. I will also try to squeeze in a few vintage chillers paired as double features. My favorite month of the year - this October is going to be awesome!

Oh, I am definitely going to watch the entire Friday the 13th series (or at least the Paramount films, think I can do without the New Line segments).
I'm ashamed to say it, but I've only seen the first two films and then Jason Goes to Hell, Jason X and Freddy vs. Jason. I've got a copy of the big box set on one of my wishlists, so now I've just got to make an order! ![]() Apart from that, I have no clue. I'm in the mood for buying, though, so I'll check out what you guys are recommending. Plus, didn't I hear someone say that October was going to be a big review-month for the Horrordvds critcis?

I am working on my yearly October horror-a-thon list right now, but as usual, it is taking me forever to make my choices. The only ones for sure are Halloween (duh), The Uninvited (thank you Turner Classic Movies), House of 1000 Corpses, Night of the Demons, and Scarecrows (if I can keep my hands off the dvd until then). There's SO many great horror dvds coming out it is hard to pare those choices down.
Here's hoping we all get to see Trick 'r Treat in theaters in October too. Last edited by onebyone; 09-14-2007 at 08:46 PM. |

Basically any Halloween, except H20 and Ressurrection, any movie slasher that takes place at a summer camp, oh and the Dead films. I've grown accustomed to certain flicks during certain seasons, and those seem to work best for me.

Adding some films to my list:
Bug - I literally cannot wait to see this film! I know so little about it and yet it sound soooo gooood! Alligator Death Proof Demons (the rerelease) Lizard in a Woman's Skin (Remastered) Those will all be first-time views, but I'm also probably going to pick up Cujo: 25th Anniversary. Then I've recently bought Inland Empire and the Black Christmas remake, so I'll probably watch them too. And I'll probably watch some of them before October ... I'm too anxious to start!

These are always some of my favorite threads to read. It's cool hearing everyone's different Halloween viewings! This year I'm going to try my best to watch as many older films that I've never seen before, but of course I'll make time for some staples of modern horror as well....Suspiria is the 1st that comes to mind. I ALWAYS watch that in October...

What the hell, I think I'll watch the Halloween series this year. It's been ages since I've seen most of them--in fact, I think the last time I saw 4 was in the theater! Maybe now that I'm not 8 anymore I can truly appreciate it.

I don't create lists but I stick to horror movies, at least at home. If we go to the theater in October, I can make no guarantees. Generally I'll watch a series (Jason, Freddy, Leatherface, etc.) or pick out some of my genre favorites.

Doesn't look like anyone mentioned Texas Chainsaw Massacre yet! The original that is. I'll be watching it, along with Suspiria.

Believe it or not, I haven't even thought about it!
Probably the usual. The thing is, I watch horror movies the year round so I don't forsee me doing anything out of the ordinary for the holiday. Maybe I should step outside the box and watch nothing but romance comedies?
