Dept Store Halloween Promo DVD sales

Well, it's that time of year again! I've had my decorations out for about a month now. Yes, I start real early. lol Anyway, with this season comes sales on horror dvds because apparently the general public only buys horror films around Halloween (at least that's what the big heads think). Anyway, what are some of the sales going on? At Walmart, they have up their pitiful horror halloween section. Most of the titles are either Fox or Paramount discs. Good news is that their either $5 or under. Some of the titles I can remember are:
The Alligator People
Dead Zone
Prophecy
F13 1 - 8
Pet Semetary 2
Graveyard Shift
Killer Tomatoes 3 & 4
Day the Earth Stood Still
House of the Damned
Legend of Hell House
Club Dread
Edward Scissorhands
Frankenstein Unbound
Audrey Rose
And some others that come out to about 25 - 30 titles. They also have the "Dreadtime Stories" DVDs that Sony put out. Those include RE3 tickets for those who missed my post on that. These discs should be on their own display case rather than mixed in with the halloween promotional area.

Another store that usually has some good october dvd deals is "Dollar Tree." Two years ago they had a lot of great double features though most got pulled because they ended up ripping off other company's transfers! whoops. lol Last year they had some pd stuff with really lame cartoon art. This year, I have not seen a damn thing at this chain as I have checked a few stores. Even their halloween decorations are pretty lame this year which is unfortunate as I picked up a lot of old school monster stuff last year like posters, cards, figures, etc...

I picked up these last night at Wally World:

The Dead Zone Collector's Edition
Roger Corman's Frankenstein Unbound

I had already bought the Decoys 1 and 2 Dreadtime double feature a couple weeks ago there. Still need to use the movie ticket!

I'll have to check "Dollar Tree" again soon, I grabbed a few good double features there the other year.

I got a whole stack of DVDs from Dollar Tree that year as well, so thanks for the reminder to check them out this time around! I always forget them because we have Dollar General nearby.

Good call on this thread! You beat me to it.
I went to Wal-Mart today near me and they had nothin' yet. I remember a few years ago they had a sweet MGM Midnight bin right near the check-out for 5 bucks a pop. I picked up some pretty good stuff last year there - they had a Tartan Asian Extreme set-up with everything well under $10
