I also received Evilspeak and Curse of the Blue Lights yesterday. Bill does get the stuff shipped out fast.

Supposedly Code Red's first blu-ray has just been sent off to the pressing plant:

I'll grab this even though I could never get into the film. Suffice it to say it's my least-favorite Fulci. CR needs the support so I'm in.

I don't mind it but I don't like it enough to upgrade.

I'll believe that when I see it. A Blu would be very welcome though! I'd sell that sealed DVD of mine for big bucks!

Why the hell would he release Nightmare on BD? With all the trouble he's had with this title and all the "money he lost", why? Not only that, I can't see this one being that significant of an upgrade. While the "newly discovered telecine" on Disc 2 was the best of the 3 versions of the film...there was significant print damage on it. It's not a transfer I'd invest in HD unless I paid extra money to have it cleaned up. And I can't see that happening.

Do you think he's finally going to include the translated interview with Scavolini? LoLz...

Honestly, Bill forget about this title...focus on Just Before Dawn, Neon Maniacs, and other titles that have yet to see "proper" digital format releases.

EDIT: Just read that Bill plans on releasing a brand new cleaned up transfer. Interest piqued, but still skeptical.

I still haven't even opened my Nightmare DVD. Guess that will help the resale value.

I'd rather see Butcher Baker Nightmare Maker or Popcorn.

Yeah, what the fuck happened to Popcorn? All this back and forth fighting about who owns the rights is bullshit. These films deserve to be released,... but now Popcorn is stuck in copyright hell because two companies can't figure out who owns the rights. One side should just concede so fans can finally enjoy the fucking movie the way it was meant to be seen...that's who really is getting hurt here.

I hear through the grapevine that there is indeed some movement with POPCORN but that's all I know right now.

Would love to know what people think of Blue Lights. I have the VHS but have never watched it, and all the reviews I read about the movie make it sound lime a kids movie with no real violence. Many feel it should have been rated PG.

Wasn't there a Rated and Unrated version of Blue Lights on VHS?

EDIT:

Just finished it. It's not particularly gory but there's some melted faces and some gore here and there. I enjoyed it. It's not the hidden gem I was hoping for but I had fun with it.
