Holy... fucking... shit.

The opening to Eye in the Labyrinth is one of my favorite scenes in gialli, along with the dream in Tropic of Cancer and some of the Martino/Bava/Argento/Fulci highlights.

Interestingly, "Code Red" appears nowhere at all on the DVD release of Probability Zero / Sullivan's Marauders.

Not on the front, back or spine of the coverart. Not even on the disc label. And no studio logo appears on the menus.

The spine just lists "NUKE0001" as the catalog number.

Scorpion has announced on Facebook that instead of Code Red, they'll be releasing Force: Five on DVD February 11th.

Uh... well, don't be disappointed. But you will be.

That said, it's an obscurity worth visiting. I like it. It's not a slasher giallo, more of a strict "mystery" one.

The Beaver review on "Silent Night, Bloody Night" is out:

http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film4/dvd_r...oody_night.htm

It surprising that the reviewer liked the Code Red better. What do you think? To my eyes the FilmCest looks best (especially last picture). The Code Red looks too brownish to me.

I agree (based on screen caps). Film Chest all the way, there wasn’t one where I thought that the CR image was superior.

Hmmm, I kinda agree with the reviewer - I like the warm tones of the Code Red release. However, it's tough to pass up on the brightness factor of the Film Chest release which helps immensely on the darker shots. Not sure I'll double dip on this, but maybe if the price is right.

In motion, I bet I'd prefer the Code Red release. I enjoyed the film greatly but I'm not willing to pay Code Red prices to upgrade from the Brentwood release.

I actually can't tell which picture is better.

I too prefer the warmer Code Red picture, but there is a brightness to the other. However, the film's darkness adds an edge. So like... idk what to do now.
