It will be the subject of a TV drama some 20 years from now...

So, Redeemer is back up on the website, but already sold out? WTF? So is Nightmare, but there are still copies of BBNM.

But what percentage of the market does it cut out? 50%? More? That's ludicrous. You sell somewhat niche products and want to cut out a good deal of your potential market? Good god.

Most customers would pay more for fully tracked shipping and those that won't are the ones you're going to have problems with anyway. So you cut out the crap customers to start with!! Ugh.

That's what lazy Bill he gets for using ScamPal. Don't they take half your money on fee's when you get payment? Why he doesn't get a merchant account is baffling. He would rather get burned and have pay pal take half his shit.

I have two questions. Does anyone know with certainty that Bill is going to resume international shipping when he returns ? I really have had it with his games, but I do want BBNM and the Nightmare BLU.

Secondly, Scream Factory said the reason they region lock to A is because they are not licensed for those movies outside of the USA. But, Code Red has always (to my knowledge anyway) made every DVD and Bluray region free, meaning, theoretically that Bill should have NO restrictions on any of his titles in any region of the world. Correct ?

That's an interesting point. So Final Exam and Evilspeak should have been region free from Shout.

So did Bill kick everyone out of his Facebook group or just select people?

Funny, I posted on there a few times, never once getting involved in all the drama and I got tossed for whatever reason.

Bill seems to find everything and anything offensive so I'm not surprised. I had a bitch about him not wanting to sell overseas when his first mentioned that nonsense but surprisingly didn't get kicked off. I don't understand how someone that seems so unstable and childish can run a business.

Bill tried to get rid of the group but IIRC was told he needed to delete people individually and got fed up and stopped after he got through a certain letter.

Nightmare, BBNM and Redeemer all back in stock. Not sure why Redeemer went up $5 though

I vote for a mental disorder of some kind. He couldn't even work with his brother, FFS!

Frankly, I'm surprised Code Red is still in business. Now, I own several Code Red products, and I'm happy with them. And should Code Red release more movies I want, I'll happily buys those (if they're available to me). But the way business is conducted at Code Red is perplexing - and that's being delicate about it. I would make the following assumptions:

-Vintage horror and exploitation is a niche market. You're gonna need all the customers you can get, including overseas. If you can't ship direct, ally yourself with a retailer who can.

-The larger part of your customer base will be regular, level-headed film buffs who are first and foremost interested in the movies. Had the same movie come out from VS, SF, or BU, they would still buy it - because they want THE MOVIE. Personal beefs with other companies are not really relevant to them.

-If you want to sell your product, make it available to those who want it. If you're going on a holiday, close your shop with a notice saying when it will be open for business again. Opening and closing at random will give your customers a frustrating sense of missing out and will make you appear unreliable.

-Courtesy, courtesy, courtesy!

There are other companies with a profile similar to Code Red's, but I have never seen any run the same way.
