"Dario Argento Back to Giallo in 'Yellow'?"

Could be just a rumor but shocktillyoudrop.com says:

Early rumblings of Dario Argento's next project have floated our way.

An insider tells us the Mother of Tears director may take a crack at a "loving homage" to the giallo films of the '60s and '70s entitled Yellow - an apropos moniker since giallo means "yellow" in Italian and was a popular term used to describe mystery and crime pulp fare.

Argento's Tenebrae, Bird with the Crystal Plummage and Deep Red are all classic and rich with the red stuff examples of gialli.

Hannibal Films' Richard Rionda Del Castro and Rafael Primorac are championing the Yellow script by writers Sean Keller and Jim Agnew. Tuck this under your hat as rumor at this point and keep it here for the latest while we aim to carve up some confirmation.

Dunno,could be nice...-ish....perhaps?
I just hope this won't be an Americanized Giallo (if true).

Way too early to pass comment. All we know from that is that it'll be a giallo. I'm up for that.

So is it literally being called 'Yellow' in Italy? It'll probably be about a killer who's mimicking a book's killings. They'll try to follow the book and figure out a way to trap him with it.

It'll be GIALLO in Italian and YELLOW in English. It would make no sense to call it YELLOW in Italy.

Liking calling something Suspiria or Tenebre in America? It's no uncommon to use other language's title especially if it's one word. I also think Italians know enough English to know what "yellow" means.

It's probably a play on words, it makes more sense to call it 'Giallo' even in America than just 'Yellow' because the genre is known more by the word itself than by the color connotation. It's almost like calling something Grindhouse, in and of itself modern audiences probably won't get it anyways even in Italy.

Well the term YELLOW has no status and historical value, well GIALLO, in the genre, surely does.

You are very wrong about that, you know.

You've done surveys? I could be wrong, but in my experience working at an international training center many Europeans have a basic enough understanding of English. Perhaps "yellow" wouldn't be on the tip of their tongue but I think more Italians know "yellow" than Americans know "giallo."
