"Lucio Fulci’s THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY is poised to haunt Italian horror fans all over again, thanks to a new DVD special edition and Blu-ray coming this fall. Read on for the details and art.

Blue Underground issues the discs September 27. Starring THE BEYOND’s Catriona MacColl, THE NEW YORK RIPPER’s Paolo Malco, CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD’s Carlo de Mejo and TENEBRAE’s Ania Pieroni, HOUSE focuses on a family who move into an old New England mansion, little knowing it’s already the dwelling of the evil Dr. Freudstein, who’d love to make them the latest subjects of his grotesque experiments. Newly transferred in high definition from the original uncut negative, the movie will be presented in anamorphic 2.35:1 widescreen with Dolby Surround/DTS-HD sound, plus a bunch of new special features on both discs:

• “Meet the Boyles”: interviews with MacColl and Malco

• “Children of the Night”: interviews with child stars Giovanni Frezza and Silvia Collatina

• “Tales of Laura Gittleson”: interview with actress Dagmar Lassander

• “My Time With Terror”: interview with de Mejo

• Deleted scene

• Theatrical trailers

• TV spot

• Poster and still gallery

The Blu-ray will include all these plus:

• “A Haunted House Story”: interviews with screenwriters Dardano Sacchetti and Elisa Briganti

• “To Build a Better Death Trap”: interviews with cinematographer Sergio Salvati, makeup FX artists Giannetto De Rossi and Maurizio Trani, special FX artist Gino De Rossi and actor Giovanni De Nava

Retail prices are $19.98 for the DVD, $29.98 for the Blu-ray."

Last I heard it's supposed to be in October:

BRUTALASHELL.COM: “. . . On the February 18th Deadpit show Felsher had some interesting news on Blue Underground’s plans to finally give Lucio Fulci’s Zombie (or Zombi 2 as it’s more popularly known) a proper Blu-ray release. Now we’ve all seen (or maybe we haven’t) the Wikipedia page that says William Lustig plans on releasing the film in 2011, but Felsher discloses some additional info that’s worth reporting on!
Bill [Lustig] has made it a point he wants this one to be a big deal. Zombie’s going to be a big release. He’s going to be doing a whole new transfer in HD from the negative. This is going to blow away any previous edition of Zombie that’s ever been out there.

Felsher also comments on some of the extra’s we might expect. He was recently at the Cinema Wasteland Expo, where we was able to get together with about four of the cast members to shoot some additional footage.

The stuff we shot at Cinema Wasteland was just fantastic. It’s going to be in 2.35.1 widescreen just like the movie and we shot it all in a really cool way. It’s going to be very different than a lot of the stuff I’ve done. I’m really looking forward to Zombie coming out.

In terms of when we can expect this release? “I think Bill’s plan, and I can’t speak 100%, but I think Bill’s plan was to definitely have that out for Halloween this year. But again, plans can change and I’m not making the official announcement. That’s just what the plan is right now. I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more official announcements from them as we get closer to it. This is going to be a big, big special edition.

Ok, first that Zombie 2 blu looks awesome!

Secondly does the Deep Red blu contain the full Italian cut or not? Amazon.com has me confused.

Yep, it lists this on the back cover:

Now this classic shocker has been newly transferred in stunning High Definition from its original camera negative, and is presented in both the Uncensored English Version and Full-Length Italian Director's Cut for the first time ever!
and the various reviews confirm it.
