Yeah, looks like garbage. Dredging up unnecessary sequels to old movies must be the new remake trend...

Shit, I really want to see this one as they shot it around here. I was so pissed because I only found out about it after shooting had wrapped (they used an abandoned supermarket about three minutes away from where I live) and I could've met Lance Henrikson

Love the first movie. I will give this a chance and check it out. Although it doesn't look that promising.

I'll bet you won't see anybody turned inside out in this movie.

Looks kind of lame/generic but I'll give it a chance just cause I love the first one so much. Plus it could end up being kind of cheesy fun.

Inspired by the short story “ Second Variety” by Philip K. Dick

SCREAMERS: THE HUNTING

Starring Gina Holden, Jana Pallasky and Lance Henriksen (The Terminator, Aliens)

Fear Evolves on DVD February 17th

Culver City, CA (12/8/08) – The killing machines of the cult hit Screamers are back and deadlier than ever in SCREAMERS: THE HUNTING, slicing its way onto DVD this February 17 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. This imaginative and futuristic thriller stars genre favorite Lance Henriksen (The Terminator, Aliens) as well as hot up-and-comers Gina Holden (Final Destination 3, AVPR: Aliens vs Predator - Requiem) and Jana Pallaske (Speed Racer). Packed with sharp suspense, a killer featurette and cutting edge effects, SCREAMERS: THE HUNTING is sure to thrill action and sci-fi fans.

It’s been thirteen years since the robotic killing machines known as Screamers destroyed the human population of Sirius 6B. But now a distress signal brings a team of rescuers to the supposedly abandoned planet. Can it be a long-lost colony of human survivors? Or have the Screamers evolved into something even more sinister…a half-man/half-machine hybrid that needs to escape Sirius 6B to finish its mission: the complete annihilation of the human race?

SCREAMERS: THE HUNTING was directed by Sheldon Wilson, who previously helmed the 2007 Sci-Fi Channel original sci-fi movie Kaw. The screenplay was written by Miguel Tejada-Flores, who co-wrote the original Screamers. SCREAMERS: THE HUNTING has a run time of approximately 95 minutes. It has been rated R for Sci-Fi Creature Violence and Gore.

Maybe it will live up to such classics as "The Hitcher II", "8 mm II" and "Hollow Man II".

Watched this over the weekend. It was pretty dam good.

The fx gore was great. Excellent actually. Very little CGI , which was really just used for the screamers themselves. Reminded me of Virus during some parts of the movie. I'm glad I saw it.

I took a chance and rented it, and it actually was fairly good. Much better than I thought it would be, and surprisingly had a decent budget in its favor.

The first time I ever saw a twist ending was in SCREAMERS.
I went to school the next day and told everybody about it because the idea of a twist ending absolutely blew my mind.
I saw the movie again like a decade later, I didn't care for it, but I will always appreciate it for turning my eight year old head inside out.
