The Unborn

Has anybody seen The Unborn yet? I wanted to go see it tonight, but I've heard bad things about it and the PG-13 rating makes me hesitant.

Fangoria hated it.

I was going to go see this to support original R rated horror. Then I saw that it was PG-13 and went to see The Wrestler instead.

I saw it last night unfortunately. All of the characters were simply throw away characters. I could have cared less for what happens to any of them. Absolutely no character development. All the creepy stuff you've seen in the previews is pretty much all of the creepy stuff in the whole movie. Also, the ending was EXTREMELY anticlimactic.

I was really disappointed and won't recommend it to any friends. A definite Netflix or cable movie.

That's all the more reason to see the film. FANGORIA NEVER seems to give any decent reviews. They have panned dozens of horror films that I've liked, so this doesn't mean much. It's like listening to a review of slasher film from Gene Siskel, if you can remember what an ass he used to be. Funny that FANGORIA didn't hesitate to slap this film on the front cover of their latest issue.

It's not quite original either. I've heard that it's a remake of the Korean film A Tale of Two Sisters

I'm not too worried about the rating though. Poltergeist was PG and that was brilliant.

You're right, a solid movie is a solid movie regardless of rating. But if I'm on the fence about a horror movie and see that it's PG-13 then I skip it, especially in theaters.

Deciding to skip a throwaway horror film in favor of the best film of 2008? You made the right choice

I think you made a much better choice. "The Wrestler" is one of the best of the year IMO.

The film turned out to be better than I expected. No real great scares but some disturbing scenes. It scared my 13 year old daughter.
