Well, you know they're going to re-issue it when the remake comes out... Gotta happen.

A remastered reissue with some good extras sounds awesome right about now.

Yeah, I hope it comes to pass, as I've been goin' through Amazon 3rd party sellers as of late, and snatchin' up some old school Slashers, and I am hoping that this one get's a nice re-release. Hmm a remake I noticed is comin' up, huh? Sweet, as it means a special edition release will no doubt be on the way.

Maybe... but it doesn't always happen. All of the Death Race 2000 DVD's were OOP when the remake came out for example.

The majority of Elite Entertainment released DVD's are now OOP.

All the old Batman flicks stayed OOP while Dark Knight came to theaters and dvd/br.

You'll probably find better prices tracking House dvds on ebay. Amazon prices for really rare stuff are jacked up super-high and don't represent the true going rate for an OOP title. Ebay does, just be sure to check the sellers stats and feedback to avoid the bad ones, there's enough good ones out there.
On the flip side, for OOP movies no one cares about, Amazon is probably better as you'll find those for a couple/few bucks, while the ebay auctions will start higher than what you can pay outright on Amazon.

I only have the Vestron VHS tape from...uh...'83?
Anyways, could somebody tell me if the tape is cut, and/or if the DVD is uncut?

Funny that this DVD is being discussed right now. I just got a British import copy from Ebay for about $10 U.S. 2 days ago. The DVD is region free PAL and is full screen unfortunately and full of compression artifacts, especially on the opening scene. During scenes with fast motion or camera pans there is a doubling effect probably caused by my player's PAL to NTSC conversion. But for 10 bucks you can't go wrong and the movie is decent.

That's actually probably due to the DVD itself. It sounds like the video was taken from an NTSC source, converted to PAL, but not speed-corrected. A few of Anchor Bay UK's titles do this (Hellraiser I and II, Bloody Birthday).
