anyone ever check out the texas chainsaw massacre the next generation extended cut dvd that was only released in canada?

That movie was so bad that I don't think any cut can save it.

I use to have a copy a long time ago but I lost it. The only difference I can remember was a scene in the beginning were Jenny was getting ready to go to the dance and it was obvious that her stepfather(?) was interested in her in ways she didn't like.

I have it, but haven't watched it yet. It seems like there is just more dialog here and there in addition to the scene Spit is referring to.:

The 1997 release, titled "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation" cuts several scenes, including a subplot in which Jenny is abused by her stepfather. This is the only version currently available on video and runs 84 minutes (the original cut ran 95 minutes). The longer uncut version differs from the shorter "Next Generation" version in the following other ways:
Said to take place in 1994, not 1996
Matthew McConaughey's name is misspelled in the closing credits
There is an early scene in which Jenny's stepfather barges into her room, threatens her and slams her against the wall
There is more dialogue between Barry and Heather in the car
Most scenes and shots throughout the movie are longer (cut for time in other versions)
The towtruck scene is NOT intercut with Jenny, Heather, & Barry leaving Darla's office
Jenny and Darla have a longer conversation in the bathroom
Music and sound effects are almost entirely different
The scene with Jenny escaping the house at dawn is tinted blue; the following scene with the motorhome and the towtruck is tinted orange.

The Canadian DVD release on the Lions Gate label is the uncut version, running just over 93 minutes. It bears the title "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" The Next Generation."

Same here - that's why I have it. It wasn't easy either. I asked a ton of people on half.com and Amazon which version they had - "Does it have the chainsaw lipstick or Rennee and Matthew on the cover?"

You guys got to be kidding. Granted its not the best TCM is still got some great moments. I love the squirmy awkward Jenny and Vilmers robot leg cracks me up. Sides it has one of my favorite lines out of any TCM 'Get her Leather! We can have some more fun to-daaay!'

There are so many mixed reviews about the film, but I have to say it's not a favourite of mine. Is the uncut version not banned in some countries?? How do they make uncut versions anyway? Do they shoot the whole thing and then make the final film with scenes cut out?

I got it for $2, so for that price I was intrigued enough to have an uncut copy : )

That would be right around the highest I'd pay for it.
I'll put it this way, when Gamestop was selling off their dvds for super-cheap, I passed on the US cut for 50 cents. Yeah, probably a buck for the uncut would be the limit.
I really hope I never get that hair to see this again. I think the one time was enough.

I do have the supposedly uncut version, but I have no idea how it differs from the US release - I've never seen that one.

Anyway, probably the best that can be said for this film is that at least it's better than the remakes. Not that it's much of an achievement.

I do have the Canadian version but I haven't watched it yet (or the American version either for that matter). It's not one I'm exactly chomping at the bit to get to. It was mainly bought for completion purposes.

Certainly a thousand times better than Part III or the remakes. It's so goddamn loony! The dinner scene is hysterical, like when
