What's really funny about all this is that Joe Lynch kinda fucked us over. Part 3 is probably what part 2 SHOULD have been. Think about all the shitty DTV sequels we get, or even something like the recent Hills Have Eyes 2. They're all complete garbage! Wrong Turn 2 blindsided everyone because it was actually a fun slasher flick. I know the reality show angle was dumb, but as much as the plot was a bit lame, the execution was really good.
Take that shitty CGI kill from part 3 that we've mentioned, then compare it to the opening kill in part 2. Lynch doesn't bother with any CGI, he just shows the actress's feet and a bunch of gore. He covers up the lack of budget REALLY well, which is a big problem with the new one. Lynch deserves more props after this. It's too bad Platinum Dunes wouldn't get a clue and hire him for Friday part 2. |

Yeah this was pretty bad. The main actress can't act and her character is so bloody annoying that you want her dead. Actually most of the acting was bad. The CGi was crap which was a shame cause there were a couple of kills that could've been pretty cool if they had been done right, and there are so many logic flaws that will have you shaking your head. The ending was lame.
I was thinking about seeing if there was a pack with Part 2 and 3 cause I don't own 2 on DVD yet...I was even willing to buy part 1 again just to have the trilogy. Now that I've seen part 3, I think I'll just buy part 2 and be done with it. |

I already own 1 + 2 on standard DVD. I guess I will skip the blu-ray set for now and just pick up 3 on DVD.

I was at Best Buy yesterday and they had the blu-ray for WT3 already out. Having not heard anything of it before hand (had not seen this thread), I picked it up. I wish I hadn't. I agree with the others in this thread, this movie is horrible! I'm pretty lenient on bad movies, but wow, this movie is one of the worst. The blu-ray was of great quality, but that made the low budget even more apparent (i.e. the horrible CGI). If you enjoyed the first two films, stay away from this one!

Picked up my free copy today after much struggle with a business that will go un-named,(
)and plan to watch it tonite...I'm pretty forgiving with bad sequels,as long as the grue and exploitative elements are up to snuff.I've endured terrible CGI and acting, and expect that no sequel could surpass or even meet the popcorn-entertainment value of the last one.I am wondering if everyone else's has the cardboard cover glued over the shrink wrap, bearing the cool red sticker,"With footage too gory for theaters!".I like the art they decided to go with, and plan to frame it,regardless of whether the movie blows.

My copy had the cardboard cover, but I threw it away. And what's the deal with "too gory for theaters"? I don't recall this getting any kind of theatrical play. lol

I've been trying to get through this "movie" for the past two nights. I'm about at the 55 minute mark. What a piece of crap!!! I was so looking forward to it after being pleasantly surprised by the last one but this is unbearable. In addition to the bad CGI and acting, the dialogue is fucking PAINFUL. I feel bad for these actors because I don't know if the most accomplished actor could make these lines real. It's as if the writers got their inspiration (if you can call it that) for the dialogue from every bad teen comedy and action flick made during the 80s.
And the hillbillies? Who did this makeup? Don Post? At least the hillbillies in 1 and 2 looked like inbred hillbillies. These look like kids going trick or treating in oversized Halloween masks! WTF? I guess I'll try and finish it tonight, but it may take me another two days to get through this mess. |

Bad CGI and acting moments aside I actually enjoyed part 3. The concept was an interesting one and some of the deaths pretty gruesome. I don't remember liking part 2 any more, guess I have to give that one another watch.

Wow, and I thought I got a good deal when I paid $30 through DDD. I wonder why the price on this just keeps dropping. The standard DVD 3-Pack is still $36 which doesn't make any sense.
