That hits my art house theater next week. Guess I'm going, now.

This week it's Vampire Hunter D:Bloodlust. They showed the Audition trailer....looks pretty strange.

When you see it Paff, post your views. It's one of my favorite films of all time - honest!

I so desperately want to see Audition--or any Miike film, for that matter--yet I'm having the most difficult time tracking any of them down. The closest I came to Japanese cinema was seeing Cure in Toronto (I live in Canada). Still, no luck with Miike.
Pehaps I'll just track down a region free copy on dvd.
I can only imagine how much that'll cost, though.

Can anyone assist me with this?

I've seen it. It's a wonderful film, but I think it's somewhat overrated. The favorite scenes for me involved the main character investigating the mysterious actress' past.

I felt like gagging, too, in one disgusting scene (involving a dog bowl if I recall) that reminded me of Bad Taste...

There is no region free version released as far as i know. The hk dvd ist ntsc and region 3, the uk dvd is pal and region 2.
You can get Miike's "City of the lost souls" aka "Hazard City" on region free ntsc dvd released by HK lable Mei Ah.

If you are really into "offbeat" cinema you should get a region free player

That's the one I've purchased.

You can buy it direct from www.dddhouse.com - fast and reliable company.

I remember when I first caught this film at the start of the year. There were only a few members back then who appreciated the movie - I think Chaostar was the only other poster who supported my views! Anyway, it's totally uncut but the subtitles are badly interpreted - still, at DDD prices, it's a bargain. Purchase without hesitation!
