A film director is someone who directs the making of a movie and not someone who assembles a cut. If that happens it will be so wrong and a great disrespect for Clive Barker, the one who directed all the footage.

If his friend is the one responsable for assembling this cut, then he should be mentioned for that... and not for directing this.

I don't think Clive cares. He's just over the moon that his film is being seen the way he wanted it too. Because the film is so different now Clive's friend spent a long time cutting all the footage into scenes and then going through the script and piecing it all together like a jigsaw. I think Clive is cool with him getting a short of directors credit as he is promoting the film around the world for Clive who hasn't been well. Clive's name is all over the movie anyway.

I saw this movie (theatrical cut of course) when it was first out and really was disappointed - curious if this new cut could change my mind years later....

Hopefully it will. It's an awesome story and all the best bits have been put back in. One of the biggest issues the theatrical cut had was it cut out so much character development that not only did you not know what was going on but you didn't care. A lot of the new footage helps make these's characters interesting people that are actually more than a 2D paper cut out the theatrical cut made you believe they were.

I've always been a fan of Nightbreed. Watched it non stop as a kid and bought the DVD when it first hit.

It's definitely flawed as hell but I've always found it entertaining.
