Contest #3: Slasher Holidays

One of the distinguishing qualities of the old slashers were their fixation on significant holidays and dates. October 13th sounds like the perfect day for a horror movie, but it's actually the day that the birthday slasher HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME hits DVD. We've got three copies to give away courtesy of Anchor Bay, and all you've got to do is tell us: what's your favorite horror movie holiday?

October 13th sounds like the perfect day for a horror movie, but it's actually the day that the birthday slasher HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME hits DVD. We've got three copies to give away courtesy of Anchor Bay, and all you've got to do is tell us: what's your favorite horror movie holiday?

We've got slashers set on Halloween, Friday the 13th, Graduation Day, Christmas, New Years, Prom Night, Valentine's Day and even on a (bloody) birthday. That's just the tip of the iceberg, so tell us, which date do you like most for your horror?

Post a single response in this thread and be entered to win 1 of 3 copies of HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME on DVD. Anchor Bay is also throwing in a pack of promotional HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME balloons to the first place winner.

Contest ends a week from today, Tuesday, October 20th, where 3 winners will be randomly drawn.

So let's hear it: what's your favorite horror movie holiday?

If anyone answers anything other than Halloween, they're just lying to themselves. It's an absolutely great film in the same realm as Psycho, Jaws or any other horror classic. It falls on the BIG horror-themed holiday. Everything about it is absolutely perfect.

I even proposed to my now-wife on Halloween night whilst watching it. You can't get any better!

I almost picked Black Christmas since I just watched it again recently, but c'mon- I gotta go with Halloween.

Halloween although Black Christmas is close behind. And I also really like My Bloody Valentine, April Fool's Day, Friday the 13th and Terror Train.

since over here we're not REALLY into Halloween, i can safely say Christmas

this is mostly due to Black Christmas, the original of course (even though i liked the remake)
