Well seeing it a big screen is a different kettle of fish all together. I was referring to buying the film. I honestly don't think it's worth it. A cinematic experience may be the way to see this movie and actually say you had fun watching it.

Personally though, I think the trailer is better than the actual film and would be a little peeved off that I paid money to watch the actual film.

+1

Download Avatar to your little blue heart's content but PLEASE get out there and spend your movie dollars where they belong. Independent theaters and video stores actually need your business or they WILL GO AWAY.

Don't make Belial cry, do the right thing you guys.

Guys, a lot of you are missing the point here.

It isn't just the craziness of what goes on that makes this movie such a trip. It's the fact that we, as a bunch of 21-35 year-old American men, are watching a movie that was made for Japanese teenage girls in the 70's. We are so far removed from its intended time and place that it seems absolutely hilarious to our sensibilities.

Don't attend/buy this movie expecting a film that's going to speak to you as a 21-35 year-old American horror fan. Because it's not going to and you're going to be disappointed. Go into it with the frame of mind that you're watching something bizarre that you were never meant to see.

I had the advantage on seeing this movie without knowing a damn thing about it or what to expect. Last fall they played it at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood on a double-feature with GOKE: BODY SNATCHER FROM HELL and I attended. I had come mainly to see GOKE, which I'd wanted to see since I was a child, and knew about HOUSE only that it was a Japanese horror/comedy from the 70's. And I absolutely loved it, as did the guys I attended with.

Yeah. I don't understand how anybody could go into Hausu and expect to see a lot of gore and something completely different/removed from that of which the trailer has shown you.

I personally can't wait to see it. From what I have seen, this may crack my top 20 horror films!

It's important that we don't rip off small or independent films... please support independent cinema by doing your part and paying for legit copies, rent, or buy a ticket to see it. If we (a small niche community) don't even give our support, the unique genre films, as mentioned will be gone.

Truly independent films already have an uphill battle to make a couple bucks.

Just got back from the screening in Denver and let me say Hausu was FUCKING AWESOME!!! Bat-shit-crazy doesn't even begin to describe this movie.
What a blast. Totally packed theater, everyone had a great time.

I can't wait for the Criterion of this to come out. I have GOT to hear someone involved with the making of this movie try and explain some of the thinking behind it.

Jesus christ, Dobby. He was just stating that he liked the film. Stop being such a fascist little cunt.

This coming from somebody who is saving Troll 2 in the "Fame or Shame" game...

It might not be your cup of tea, but everyone is entitled to their opinions. I mean, come on, for 1977 it's edited AMAZINGLY, plus it's shot very well.

Haha Dobby don't be a dork. As fans of movies most people find to be "turds" we've really gotta learn to be a bit more tolerant of conflicting tastes.
The world isn't divided up into "people who like shit I do" and "assholes who don't", the sooner you figure that out the better off you'll be.

By the way I'm not trying to hype up Hausu dude, I just really had a great time watching it last night with my friends.
