I recently switched my gaming systems over to the American version of Netflix which is a thousand times better than the Canadian version, and I noticed a lot of movies on there that have recently been released or are coming soon from Shout Factory.I wonder how this affects the sales.I have been trying not to watch certain titles because I don't think I'll have the urgency to buy it f I've just watched it.

Horror Show is an example of one that I like a lot and would probably still buy it right away even if I watched it on netflix but maybe someone who does more blind buying may not pick this up after watching it for $7 a month.Could these companies be costing themselves money by having them available like that or are they making a good chunk of change by giving the title to Netflix?

I think streaming stuff on Netflix falls under broadcast rights. So in the case of The Horror Show, Shout Factory bought the rights to release it on disc, while MGM retains the broadcast / streaming rights.

Actually, The Horror Show was released by United Artists and MGM owns it. All Shout! did was sub-license it from MGM.

Netflix streaming saved me from THEY LIVE, THE VIDEO DEAD and TERRORVISION. I also skipped EAT MY DUST and GRAND THEFT AUTO. THE HORROR SHOW is in my queue. That being said, I've seen LIFEFORCE on Netflix streaming and still can't wait to buy Shout's release. So it's definitely affected sales. Who knows to what degree. Not everyone has Netflix Streaming.

The ridiculous prices for the Scream Factory titles is stopping me from buying a lot of them but I did snag Terrorvision/The Video Dead.

Worth it.

I know! How dare someone charge $20 for amazing special editions of movies that would've never gotten that treatment from any other company.

I make nothing at my job, but I keep a strict budget so that I can afford to buy a few Blus a month. Right now those Blus are all Scream Factory cause they put out such great product.

Both The Howling and Ninja III turned up in my Goldbox today.

Pre-ordered!!!

Dead Souls was also in there, but I think I'm passing for now.

For some reason, The Burning hasn't made its way there yet. But the rest have.
