I just saw that your review is up so I'll be checking it out now before going to bed (it's quite late here on the other side of the pond).

I watched all 4 movies in the 4-Action Packed Movie Marathon in about a 14 hour period between Tuesday and Wednesday. Loved Cyclone and Eye of the Tiger. Not a big fan of Alienator or Exterminator 2 but I enjoyed them to an extent. I've reviewed them for my site if anyone is interested. Not my best written review (doing all 4 at once was a bad idea) but hey, there are lots of pretty screenshots
for Cyclone and Eye of the Tiger

for Exterminator 2. It rules!

? for Alienator since I haven't watched it.

Well done reviews, though S man. Enjoyed reading them.

3.5 does seem harsh. Perhaps he docked it a point for a technical reasons. Seems a bit petty, but I don't get caught up in point values.

From the review:

Note: This is another Shout! Factory release with inconveniently authored supplements. Neither the chapter skip nor the Top Menu buttons are accessible within the supplements, meaning once you've chosen one of these, you're stuck with it unless you fast forward through to the end.

Now I find that surprising. Those are the things I consult their reviews for the most. If I had run into a review of them "supporting excessive DNR" or "crying foul on natural grain levels" I would stop reading them as well. Got an example on the top of your head? I haven't watched my copy of PHANTOM yet. It's the last one I have left to watch in the set.

I thought my thoughts on Exterminator 2 would be controversial I didn't hate that one as much as it seems like I did, I really struggled with that review actually. In fact I think I forgot how fun the stuff with Garbage Plow was. It was all kind of a blur watching everything in a row like that, I'll dedicate more time to each movie next time I review a set like that.

Just got a late-night, first-hand scoop from Scream Factory on Facebook.

I asked... "Will the 'Action-Packed Movie Marathon' series be continuing? Loved the first edition. Hopefully more will follow!"

Scream Factory replied...

Quote:
"Look for some other "4-Pack" releases coming soon. Action, Sci-fi and even Horror! You certainly can't go wrong with that $9.99 price."
Awesome news, I say!

Absolutely, bring 'em on! I'm enjoying the heck out of the action 4-pack. I'm up to Alienator and Ex 2 is next. Alienator is really cheesy and Roger Corman-esque but it's still enjoyable. For $8 you really can't ask for more. I'd love to know what's in store for the sc-fi and horror packs coming up.

Any ideas?

DVDNewsFlash has this to report!:

"If everything goes as planned FX Artist, Nick Maley, will be doing a commentary on LIFEFORCE. And in other Scream Factory news they just posted this titillating tidbit to tease how senses until it gets revealed:

"We have a great Blu-ray collection planned that will be released before Halloween. Keep checking back for the official announce soon. One film in it, in particular, has been requested here several times and has never been on Blu before.""

I know they were getting a bunch of requests for Prom Night II over at blku-ray.com, so it could be a collection for the Prom Night series or Prom Night sequels?

Black Christmas / Amityville: Margot Kidder

Terrorvision / Amityville II: Diane Franklin

The Blob / Amityville 3D: Candy Clark
