FYI, Cliff is on the Blu-ray.com forums. You can ask him there too.

Some random stuff from Cliff over at the Blu-ray.com forums:

-Despite not releasing cartoons on Blu-ray, animated films on Blu-ray are not out of the question

-Don't throw away your 4-disc Amityville Horror DVD set! The docs on the 4th disc will not be ported over for the Blu-ray set. "MGM's rights expired on those Docs."

-Confirmation that Shout! WILL release a special edition of The Shadow: "Yes, we will release a special edition of the film before the end of the year. We hope to be able to bring a lot of bonus content to the release - pending talent availabilty and rights to some added value content.

Only The Shadow knows what we'll be able to add"

-Freaked is still with Anchor Bay through their deal with Fox

Lastly, Shout! with MGM will release The Idolmaker on Blu-ray August 6th (my dad's birthday!):

It's never had an official home video release, and I'd love to see this version of the film!

Since they're releasing the U.S. A.I.P. version of A Lizard In A Woman's Skin under the U.S. title Schizoid. I think it's the right time to ask for another A.I.P. edit of a film to make its home video debut.

Oh, and you could add Black Sabbath in there as well, and Black Sunday, since A.I.P. did their own edits of those films for U.S. release, and those versions are not being released elsewhere in the U.S.
synapse has released the dvd of thriller a cruel picture 2 different dvd version??? dunno about this one

Synapse released the uncut hardcore version under Thriller: A Cruel Picture and a slightly cut version that removes only the hardcore footage and the eye stabbing scene under Thriller: They Call Her One Eye. But this version is not the original U.S. edit of the film, since it contains over 20 minutes of extra footage and only omits the hardcore material and the eye sequence.

So the 82 minute version released in the U.S. still has not had a legitimate release, and it would be cool to see that version finally.

Yup, I actually ordered it at $9.99 and they automatically changed my invoice down to the lower price

Just ordered the 4-movie set. $6.99 is a steal.

I also think Shout! should release The Howling 2 because why not? That movie's crazy

I was just thinking, as I listened to the commentary on the Phantasm II BD, that it would be great if shout could release Hellraiser III. That was the other Anchor Bay R2 title that I was jealous of once upon a time.

Does anyone know if Cliff has been asked about a complete Kolchak collection on Blu-Ray? Since Shout! has deals with both MGM (which released the tele-films on DVD) and Universal (which released the series on DVD-18s with no extras) I would think they could do a complete collection box set. Heck, through in those two "movies" that just cut 2 episodes together. Some of the stars of the series are still around and seem more than happy to talk about working on the show.

Thank you about the heads up on the Amityville Horror Box Set. I will be keeping my copy then. I already own Amityville Horror on Blu already, but I will purchase the new Blu if it has new special features.
