Evilspeak I remember mostly from it airing on HBO or The Movie Channel back in the mid 80s. About 10 years ago I downloaded it from somewhere and I kept falling asleep everytime I made an attempt to watch it. I thought Final Exam was awful from the getgo and have zero nostalgia for it. Needless to say, I won't be buying either one of these.

But Phantom of the Paradise... THAT is a must have!

Same here. FINAL EXAM especially has huge nostalgia factor for me. I'm hoping Blu with SHOUT's push could help the film reach more viewers. EVILSPEAK is good times, too.

Final Exam has great characters. I first watched it in 2007 and while it wasn't one of my favorites, it's not crap. Not by a long shot. I'd watch it once a year.

Final Exam is enjoyable, and I'm more than willing to give Evilspeak a second chance (demonic pigs, a flying Clint Howard, what's not to like?). The comment on their facebook page regarding sublicensing more films from Code Red is interesting - they aren't dismissive, but state that there are no plans for such and that it will depend on how well these two titles do. In that case, I suspect Madman might have been an even better release to start with.

Does Code Red still even own the rights to Madman? If so then I definitely agree they should have released that one first.

FINAL EXAM was a strange choice for Shout to decide to acquire from Code Red. Nonetheless, it'll be a day 1 purchase for me. Since these won't street for at least 6 months and Shout will decide how to proceed with further CR titles based on sales, I don't expect to see any more Code Red titles from Shout for at least a year.

If anyone is looking for Scream Factory blu-rays B&M, check F.Y.E. I was in a mall in Pennsylvania a few weeks ago and they actually had all the Scream Factory blu-rays displayed at the top of their blu-ray selection. They were all full price, but still, I thought it was neat to see them so prominently displayed like that.
