The Shout Factory website has a decent promotion going on.

10% off + free shipping on orders $50 or more, plus you receive a free mystery DVD and a promo code for $10 off your next purchase.

Assault On Precinct 13 still shows the exclusive poster as available, and would be $19.75 with the promotion. If I hadn't already bought it elsewhere, I'd be all over it.

The 10% off excludes 2014 pre-orders, however if your order is already over $50 you can add them with free shipping.

I went for:
Fear City
Crawlspace
The Beast Within
Night Of The Demons
with limited poster

Will probably use my $10 off code to pre-order either Sleepaway Camp or Ginger Snaps with the limited poster when available.

I finally watched my copy of Scanners II and I gotta say it wasn't just disappointing, it was downright embarassingly bad. The main character, the whiny guy from Stargate Atlantis, wasn't bad but those other jokers, where did they get these people, off the street? I couldn't stop snickering at the top cop's haircut and that other "baddie", the dude who resembles the vampire puppet on Sesame Street, he was bad but the prize for worst acting goes to the psychotic first scanner - that guy couldn't act for shit. I like bad movies but not I'm distracted by these things. Overall, this movie felt like one of the absolute worst episodes of the Outer Limits made-for-cable remake. It just had that really cheap, made-in-Canada to save money feel. I shudder to think about the third film.

I didn't really like Scanners 2 the first time I saw it but I definitely appreciated it more the second time around. It's a good movie and a decent sequel.

Thanks for that. My pre-order shipped at $15.00 on Tuesday. I emailed them and got a refund for the difference.

I wonder why Raimi isn't involved? As recently as a few years ago, he was willing to sit down for Anchor Bay and record yet another Evil Dead commentary.

I was going to skip this one because I already own the Universal blu-ray and I really don't watch it very often. But with those extras, I'm actually considering it...

No. Only the Collector's Editions do.

From Scream's Facebook:

"**NEW CONTEMPORARY TITLE RELEASE**

We're thrilled to be introducing DEAD SHADOWS - a suspenseful, F/X-ladened new sci-fi thriller from France - to U.S. & Canada audiences on DVD & Blu-ray this Spring!

Synopsis: A young man’s parents were murdered on the same day the Halley comet was visible from Earth. Eleven years later, a new comet lights up the sky, but as the night goes on, people begins to transform into horrible creatures. (Imagine The Thing, Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Lifeforce all crossed with each other and you get the idea.)

The film streets on 4/22 and will contain its original French language track (with English subtitles) along with an English-dubbed track option. More details - including film clips and extras - will emerge in the next couple of months. The red-band trailer has already been available for some time. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFnIS7jZI-Y."
