Like it or not Scream Factory will be releasing more and more of these newer films in an attempt to pull in the kiddies. Kiddies meaning people born after 1990 who wouldn't touch movies like Xray with a ten foot pole. As long as they keep picking good stuff (like Ravenous) I won't complain.

Ghost Story, yes, but I'm fine with The Boogens as is. I'm a big fan of the film but there isn't much more that can be done with it, and the people that really wanted it already snatched it up.

The Boogens BD from Olive looks great to me. Great fine-details and filmgrain intact.
Doubt they can make it look any better than that, without going the full 4K restoration, Criterion style, but that´s not gonna happen.

From Scream's Facebook:

"**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT**

We have a new contemporary title joining our “Summer of Fear” line-up. In June, we will be releasing Chiller TV’s THE MONKEY’S PAW both on DVD & Blu-ray. Pre-order links should be going up next month. Full list of extras will be announced in April.

Starring Stephen Lang (Terra Nova, Avatar, Conan the Barbarian) and Corbin Bleu (Dancing with the Stars, High School Musical) this 2013 feature film had a limited theatrical run last year and recently premiered to great ratings on Chiller TV in January. The synopsis (in case you haven’t seen it): A young man acquires a mystical "monkey's paw" talisman that grants its possessor three wishes and finds his world turned upside down after his first two wishes result in a co-worker being resurrected from the dead who commits murder.

For those keeping score of our “Summer of Fear” release schedule so far, here are the titles (starting in May through Aug): Final Exam, Evilspeak, House in the Alley, Nosferatu, Sleepaway Camp, Ravenous, Dog Soldiers, Ginger Snaps, Hellhole, Deadly Eyes, The Final Terror, Lake Placid and Phantom of the Paradise. You will be happy to know that we have 4 retro-films that we have yet to announce planned for Aug (including one that we think will really surprise you) so stay tuned for those reveals in the near future."

I didn't like The Monkey's Paw, it was pretty boring.

Really excited for Beneath though! That will be their first ChillerTV release that I'm buying.

It's a shame LAKE PLACID won't sell well since it doesn't heavily feature floating heads.

Seriously, I've seen LAKE PLACID and I thought it was an ok rental. I never thought it was worth buying but that cover is making me think about it.

Don't worry, I don't consider that old If anything it's harder to be young on these forums because everyone seems to think us youngling's only like the new stuff and seem to disregard your opinions.

X-ray fucking sucks, though. I love retro horror and even I wouldn't touch that shit with a ten foot pole.
