**Update on DOG SOLDIERS**

Sorry guys but there's been a change of plans for our upcoming Collector's Edition release of DOG SOLDIERS that we need to make you aware of...

Due to unforeseen issues on clear ownership of the rights, we are forced to move the title off of its planned August 26th release. Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to work out a solution to bring this back into our scary fold but, as of now, the street date is undetermined and there is a strong possibility of it moving to early 2015.

As always, we will keep you guys posted on any developments. Our apologies again.

Oh well, as long as Deadly Eyes and The Legend of Hell House are still on the slate I'm content. An extra twenty bucks in my pocket doesn't suck.

As long as it comes out eventually, I can wait.

The extras for Ravenous have been announced:

Quote:
**Final list of extras for our upcoming blu-ray edition of RAVENOUS revealed!**

- New interview with Actor Jeffrey Jones
- Commentary With Director Antonia Bird And Composer Damon Albarn
- Commentary With Screenwriter Ted Griffin And Jeffrey Jones
- Commentary With Actor Robert Carlyle
- Deleted Scenes With Commentary By Antonia Bird
- Theatrical Trailer & TV Spot
- Two Still Galleries – Costume Design And Production Design
So basically all the supplements from the dvd, plus a new interview with Jeffrey Jones. Normally I'd be disappointed by this, but considering that the dvd is non-anamorphic, this is one occasion where I'll actually upgrade just for the bump in A/V quality.

Does anyone know whether SF is able to acquire rights for titles from Fox? I would love to see collector's editions of Omen II and III.

From Scream's Facebook!:

"
**EXTRAS REVEALED on THE FINAL TERROR***

We start our 4-month "Summer of Fear" celebration by revealing today the extras for one of our titles within it: THE FINAL TERROR--on DVD & Blu-ray for the first time!

• New Audio Commentary with director Andrew Davis
• New interviews with actors Adrian Zmed and Lewis Smith, Post Production Supervisor Allan Holzman and composer Susan Justin
• Original Theatrical Trailer

This release was a challenge for us to execute. All of the original film elements (negative and inter-positive) were lost and we searched for them for months. In order to create this new HD transfer, we sourced five film prints from collectors and used the best reels. The film looks better than ever (considerably more than its VHS release, of course) but we do feel it is important to disclose that there is some mild discoloring during reel 2. We have done everything possible to minimize it (for some viewers, it will barely be noticeable) but wanted to communicate it all the same beforehand and know that we did the best we could with what we had to work with.

You can pre-order now at http://www.shoutfactory.com/screamfactory or other fine online retailers. Street date is 7/1."

Woah, sounds like they really tried with this one. They sourced 5 prints? Wow. Kudos to them for the effort involved.

Yes, they have done deals with Fox. Those are both probably possible candidates.

Omen II and III are already available on blu-ray though, so it'd be an "extras only" endeavor. Doesn't seem as worth their time as a lot of other titles out there.

Agreed, I wouldn't make them top priority titles, but Scream has re-released a lot of films with the new extras being the main selling point. Halloween II, Darkman, The Shadow, and Day of the Dead being some examples.

I recall that the commentary for Omen III was pretty lousy, so new extras would be welcome. The films wouldn't be high on my list, but I'd pick them up if Scream (or whoever) actually released them. I've only got the original on blu at the moment.

yeah omen II commentary wasn't much better. lots of dead air. and no real elaboration on the filming or marketing.. I think what happens when you wait 40 years later to recall the involment of making a film, is that memories fade over that many years...
