It certainly looks pretty damned cool, and I'm surprised the original film is coming to Blu-ray...although who knows if it'll be uncut and remastered or not.

Man, you beat me to it! I'm hoping the new set includes a new widescreen transfer for PM 1. I can't believe the first PM is going Blu! That's exciting!

We can certainly hope, but I kinda doubt they'll be new transfers for the old sequels. Hopefully it will be true of the original film though, since it'll be on Blu-ray...otherwise what's the point?

The price also isn't really that bad at all for everything that it includes. I'm definitely going to pre-order it!

Yeah, a MSRP of $35 each is pretty standard for Blu-ray without the special packaging. While not cheap, I would say it's competitively priced. I'd also like to point out there were a LOT of naysayers on Full Moon ever going Blu. Full Moon has a history of trying next gen formats; So long as they can slap a Full Moon label on it, they'll sell it. On the flip side of that, I never would have believed Troma would...

Not sure if I'll bite on the preorder. Even at 1800 units I doubt they'll sell out any time soon, setting them up for the big Halloween sale. If they're not applicable on that one, they will be for the Christmas one. I'm kinda itching for it though and don't wanna take any chances... It is a sweet set.

Very tempting!! However I'm going to wait until reviews of PM1 blu come out. If it's remastered, I'll order the blu set in a heart beat.

That being said, I still want to get Axis on blu.

Will buy Axis Of Evil when it has a solo release. Just bought the puppet master box set.
The extra offers beside the new movie don?t justify the price, for me that is.

They should release a 2 disk version of the first puppet master to celebrate the 20th.

It sounds like one's a dvd set and the other is a blu-ray set. I didn't read anywhere that it'll be just Puppet Master and PM: Axis of Evil on blu.

The original message states that it?s the only the original and the new one.

The message is a bit misleading. It makes it sound as though there's a standard set and a blu set. I'll most likely end up getting the standard set. I'm quite looking forward to this being released. This set looks like it'll be much more impressive than the previous one.

EDIT: I just re-read the thing and realised it's only PM and PM: Axis of Evil in the set. I thought this was a new box set.

A new box set wouldn't make much sense. Most of the sequels were full frame only releases and don't have much more than video-quality masters so a blu transfer of everything would be a waste of time. I think the way they're doing it here is smart. So long as AoE doesn't rely on shitty cgi for most of it's effects (and it doesn't take until fucking December to actually ship out) I'm totally stoked for this one.

I would have been happier with a special edition release of Puppet Master. And by the looks of AoE it seems it'll rely more on practical effects.

Was going to pull the trigger on the Blu case but Full Moon now charge over $80 for shipping to the UK....preferred it when they weren't using a third party shipper.
