Carriers (2009)
![]() I thought Carries was an above average effort with some pretty good acting. It's a post apocalyptic outbreak film which kind of reminded me of The Stand yet it also reminded me of Zombieland with all the rules the characters set for themselves. The film has much to do with the moral decisions one has to make when all you have left is your survival. It's not the best film I've seen of this type but It's still worth a viewing. There is a more violence and heavy usage of the F word in the R-Rated version. Which, for some reason, was not released in the U.S..
Good flick though. I enjoyed it quite a bit (The R-Rated Version).

I really enjoyed this. It made me think back to one of the stories in Stephen King's Night Shift. I believe the title was Night Surf, an off-shoot of The Stand taking place at a beach. Very moody story, and this film felt like what an expanded version of it might feel like. My only problem with the film was

I enjoyed this as well, I was pleasantly surprised. I like these kinds of survival movies. The only thing I didn't really like was how it ended. On one hand, I like movies that have endings that
Still really good, one of the better movies I've seen in recent memory.

I am a sucker for a 'post apocalypse' film, but this one bored me.

Since it was on the 50 best of the last decade list and I hadn't seen it, I ran to Blockbuster and picked it up for 5 bucks.
CARRIERS is a good movie, but sadly not a great one. i liked the cast and makeup FX, but the story really didn't tread any new ground. I'm surprised this one made that list, but I'm not sorry for buying it. I only wish I could have waited and bought the R rated version on a PAL DVD. |

I caught this on EPIX a while back, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I wasn't expecting much.

I thought this movie was pretty poor, but I can't stand Chris Pine's ham-head so I might be biased... There was virtually nothing original there though.

I had wanted to see this for a while. It came and went in theaters, but Stephen King gave it a good write-up in EW. I found it for $3 at Big Lots several months ago. It's a good movie, kind of like a more serious Zombieland.

I liked this one. It was a great "What Would You Do?" kind of flick.

Just watched this one last week myself, I must of missed this thread on here as I'd never heard of it before. Thought it was surprisingly good, one of the better movies I've watched this year. Not perfect by any means, but well above average and different enough to be interesting.

Same here. A friend gave me the dvd as he hated it, and I still felt like I had paid too much for it. At least they took it at the used store to trade for something I would watch again. Bored to tears and irked by the whole thing. Actually very surprsied to see it get so much love here.
