Predator Ultmate Hunter Edition on Blu-Ray 6/29!
An all new "Ultimate Hunter" edition of Predator is coming to Blu-Ray June 29th! Digitalbits.com has the report.:

No details yet on extras are available, but presumably the disc will include all of the previous DVD's special features that the original Blu-ray release of the film lacked. I heard the current Blu Ray of Predator looks rather unimpressive. Hopefully that will be changed with this new one. If so, I'd definitely snatch it up.

Awesome! I'm glad now that I never bought the barebones Blu-ray.
It's up for pre-order on Amazon, so of course I just placed my order.

WOW! They should credit anyone who bought the bare bones Blu Ray. What nerve to even put out that copy, when it wasn't an upgrade from the DVD! And now this new edition. I would hope that it is mastered correctly and worth buying this time!

I got the barebones one for peanuts so it won't hurt double dipping on the new SE. I really hope they will improve on the transfer though.

I had a feeling this upgrade would happen so I keep passing the BD, it's on sale for $10 or less every week somewhere it seems. Hopefully they'll upgrade Predator 2, I haven't bought that on Blu despite it being in my top 10 favorite flicks ever, due to reviews all saying it's a dnr'd mess and not worth it. Library doesn't have it to try for free though, so if it gets under $10 I'll probably bite on that since it has most if not all of the extras. Best Buy had it for $13 a couple weeks ago, but I put it back. |

I kinda wish this was all the Pred films bundled into a set, or, atleast 1 and 2. I dunno if the features make me want to bite, maybe when it drops in price...

The transfer on the special edition DVD was 10 shades of horrible IMO. I thought that the blu ray, while not being the best I've seen, it was absolutely about 30 steps up from the old DVD.
That said, I've only had a blu ray player for about 6 months, so i refuse to start double dipping already......
