I just watched the old Predator Blu-ray last night, and I honestly much prefer that transfer compared to viewing the DNR-Raped Blu-ray last week.

Sure it appears grainy at times, but it truly looks like "film" and gritty the way Predator was intended to look. Watching the new Blu-ray makes the film look like a damn 1080p video game.

I guess I'm in the minority...I didn't mind the new transfer. Anyone who wants the original BD , I have a copy on eBay for .99.

A small percentage do seem to think the new transfer is great.

I was glancing through the new Rue Morgue issue, and they reviewed the disc and simply raved that it was simply a beautiful, flawless "restoration" (or however they worded it). Uh huh.

I just saw this:
http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Predat...Blu-ray/41388/

Does anyone own it and can tell if it's the good or bad transfer of Predator?

I don't own it, but based on this, I have to assume it's the older edition. Just because the newer one has a bunch of extra features, and none of them are listed there.

I'll take your word for it then. Thanks

I've read conflicting reports, one guy said he got the original 2008 disc (and posted pictures supporting this statement), while another guy said he got the Ultimate Hunter Edition.

Wait, which version was the botched one? I'm confused now.

I have the first blu-ray release - avoided the ultimate hunter edition due to the bad reviews

I have both. When I want to watch the film itself I throw in the first blu-ray release and I use the Ultimate Hunter Edition basically as a bonus disc since it has all the extras.

I just want an edition with a good quality print. I'm only going to watch the extra features once and be done with them.
