I hate to say this, but if this will be in 3D, I'm almost certain Argento will use it in the old-fashioned gimmicky way - having stuff 'leap out' of the screen for no other reason than to 'wow' the audience.

I don't think he's really had his heart in anything he's done in the last few years, so I'm just worried what's going to happen when he tries 3D. I hope he's passionate about it, because, frankly, we haven't seen passionate Argento films since the 90s.

It's been many years since Dario has made a film I enjoyed. A change of pace is a good idea and I'd be interested to see his take on Dracula. I just don't see why this needs to be in 3-D. It's a tired gimmick already or maybe I'm just tired? It's been a long week.

I'll watch anything that Dario does! I really liked his last 2!

Here's Argento talking about the movie. After watching the video I find myself with the same pessimistic expectations for this movie but I'll still give it a go...

For all you pessimists, this is going to be you some day:
"Worst Dracula ever! I will only see in the theatre six more times!"

Impossible. No way we'll see Argento's recent flick in theaters.

I'd never lug around a laptop like that, not when my phone has a qwerty keypad.

I've hated Argento's last 3 films so I've given up on the guy. But if this gets good reviews I'll check it out.

this sounds like it has the potential to be a sequel (in spirit) with his phantom of the opera.

I'm lukewarm on Argento's recent output. I also don't feel another stab at the Dracula legend is necessary, I still think that by and large Hammer films got it right at least in terms of entertainment value if not literary accuracy. Everything else from Langella's disco haircut wearing vampire to Coppola's opulent if miscast take have been a let down for me. I had some optimism for The Wolf Man but walked away disappointed, 3D also usually amounts to massive doses of suckage as well.
It might be interesting, just not overwhelmingly so to me.

I love Argento but lately his films leave something to be desired. Choosing to do yet another version of Dracula isn't too exciting but maybe he'll approach it from a new perspective. After hearing his interview and the fact that it's going to be in 3D, I don't feel too optimistic about this movie. I'll definitely watch it - hopefully not in 3D unless it comes to a theatre in 3D, then I won't be able to pass it up.

I really hope this isn't another Phantom of the Opera. I though that movie was Argento's worst movie ever. Hopefully it stays that way.

I'm still holding out that this will be a cool movie. All the elements are there Argento, Dracula, I'm really curious to see what Dario brings to the table on this one.
