Brentwood "Vault Of Horror" Set

Be wary of this 10 pack. The box lists "Silent Night , Deadly Night" as being one of the movies in the set , but it is in fact " Silent Night , Bloody Night". The description of the movie is for SNDN. The only movie in the set I hadn't seen anywhere else was "Snowbeast".

Do you have this set? How is the quality? I don't expect much considering the price but I am just curious.

I own one brentwood title,Moon Of The Wolf. The quality isn't very good. I also have an old raven label vhs of this title.I compared the two and off the bat noticed that the dvd has improved color but besides that is the same transfer. The audio quality is shockingly better on the vhs.The dvd's audio has a constant hiss and a very low, muffled tone. The only extras on the disc are a casper the ghost cartoon (!) and a dvd dictionary which is supposed to inform the consumer of the various dvd terms (dts, component video, aspect ratio, etc.) but does a half assed job at it.Unless they release a must-have title that is unavailible any other way I would say save your money.

I own quite a few Brentwood kung fu DVDs, coincidentally I just got back from buying Brentwoods Blind Fists of Bruce Li. The quality is as expectd with a $5 DVD, usually you are just buying a DVD tape transfer, but sometimes they surpirse you (like Streetfighter is letterboxed and uncut). Its hit and miss, but no matter what, you arent breaking your pocketbook, and, one way to look at it is- it ends up being better than renting the movie. Havent dove into their horror releases yet, but expect they are around the same quality.
