You wanted it... Final Destination 5

I know a lot of you don't care whether the franchise should've stayed at 3 or 4 movies. I find them trashy fun. According to Variety, New Line isn't wasting any time with getting the ball rolling on the fifth film, which will debut in 2D and 3D theaters August 26, 2011.

Steven Quale, 2nd unit director on Avatar and Titanic will helm the 3D production, from a screenplay by Eric Heisserer. Production is slated to start September 13, and the screenplay will involve an opening scene on a suspension bridge. As suspected, one scene will also involve laser eye surgery.

so what will this be called?

The Final Destination 2?
Final Destination 5?
The Even More Final Destination?

I'm predicting the series begins using subtitles. Final Destination: End of the Line, or something equally original...

I liked the first but man did this series really drop off far in quality. Was nice to see some titties here and there but even that could only hold me for so long.

The last installment was extremely short for a feature film and I still found myself starring at the counter on my blu-ray wondering when the hell it would be over.

Yea this is because they made money off the last one which they put no money into making- the last I found watchable- but really felt like a DTV movie with 3-D slapped on- and not even good 3-D at that.

I loved how during the Nascar race in "The Final Destination," everyone is able to communicate as though they were seated around a table in Barnes & Noble. I was hoping that a piece of debree shot through my television set and impaled me. Needless to say, I will be avoiding future entries in this series.

Really? They shot FD4 with the exact same Fusion cameras James Cameron used for Avatar (and will most likely utilize them again for FD5). The 3D isn't as well-done as the latter, but that was because New Line had a much smaller budget and used crappy CGI houses.

And FD4 plays better in 3D than the horrid slap-dash conversion Warners did for Clash of the Titans.

It's either going to be called Rambo IV: First Blood 3 or Zombie 6 (AKA Dawn of the Dead 4).

Brian Tyler (The Final Destination) will be scoring Final Destination 5. Hope he uses that cool electronic guitar version of Shirley Walker's theme more.

Love this series. The Final Destination was great even in just 2D. Still holding up pretty well considering how many they have made already.

I enjoyed The Final Destination. It had a fast pace and some cool death sequences. The lead was bland as fuck and two of the death sequences could have been better but it was harmless fun. My least favorite of the series, though.

Looking forward to this. Solid enough cast and Tony Todd is back!

The last one was pretty weak, but I still own it. I liked the series overal, with FD2 being the standout. FD3 is also a very nice looking film.

Lets remember the Final Destination original story was penned and directed by James Wong who worked on the X Files, and he did some pretty great episodes of X files and Millennium. I think potentially they could of included Mulder and Scully in the first film and done it a bit differently, but considering this would of been one standalone episode of the X files, you just wonder how many horror fancises potentially could of been developed from the X files monster of the week/or surpernatual episodes.

I enjoyed the final destination films and I do think even though it's main stars are young teenagers, they could of done this with all sorts of people and probabley still can, but death scenes have taken it to become as challenging as a new jigshaw trap, you need in the end to have cool characters., and I prefered the characters in the first 2 films, I would like a film like the first 2 films, as those films had a group of characters that felt organically connected to death's plan and you pretty much wanted to follow their emotional turmoil and root for a escape.

Can't imagine last decade without the series just like Saw.

My favorite character of the series had to be Ali Larter's character, it was good to see a character return from the original. And of cource Tony Todd is like the jigshaw to this series, great actor for the genre. You can't beat that Todd voice.
