MGM is producing the movie, and now when they are out of the money problems, it might hopefully be on tracks again

Yeah, it looks a fantastic location for a horror movie. I hope they make the most of it.

Poster Update (courtesy CBR/AICN)

Quote:
Harry Knowles had the chance to talk to Whedon and Goddard, but got about as close to nothing out of an interview as is humanly possible, as the filmmakers played coy as coy can be. Lionsgate did send a brief synopsis, though, that gives the slightest of details:

Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen. If you think you know this story, think again. From fan favorites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard comes The Cabin in the Woods, a mind blowing horror film that turns the genre inside out.
Really like that poster.

It looks like an "R" rating in the lower left corner. Lets hope it is and stays that way. I can easily see this as PG-13 becoming; Five very good looking teens go to a cabin in the woods on spring break. Marginally bad things happen. If you think you know the story you are correct, but it is in 3D this time.

It's apparently pretty gory so I don't see that happening. Lionsgate has a habit of supporting R-rated horror and this is the official Lionsgate poster (as opposed to MGM). If the rating is there, I don't see why they would change it.

This is just about the only mainstream horror flick I'm looking forward to, so count me in as excited. Hopefully it sees the light of day soon.

Well, if you look at the bottom of the poster, it's coming out April 13th, 2012.

Ha, thanks for pointing that out. Completely overlooked it. Maybe after all the delays I was subconsciously ignoring it just in case it gets bumped again

I've been itching to know exactly what this flick was about since I first heard about it and now that I've seen the trailer, I'm still itching to know what the hell it's about. The trailer is giving me a sort of "Vacancy" vibe which isn't a good thing, but what has my interest piqued is what in the hell did that bird fly into?!
