Watched Santa Claus Conquers the Martians and this one is really great. There's a fun little stop motion intro/outro that's simple but effective. Cassandra is also smoking hot in a skimpy Santa outfit through out the show. There's also some puppet work which is a fitting addition for a Christmas special and really shows they put some effort into this one. Elvira also has some really good riffs sprinkled into the movie. I thought MST3K and Cinematic Titanic pretty well burned through all the good ones but Elvira managed some really fresh zingers (better than any of the Cinematic Titanic retreads on it).

As I was hoping this is also a new transfer of SCCTM. It's darker and much grainier but also has a lot better color with less damage. This one was a lot more like the print Svengoolie showed so I'm very happy to get this on DVD.

It's been 5 months since we've heard any mention of an upcoming DVD release for Elvira's Movie Macabre. Anyone have any info an whether or not the DVD releases have been officially abandoned?

Searching around, it's not looking pretty. Her officail site appears to be down, and I'l not seeing any mention of Season 2 getting aired on TV.

I've ordered a lot of them , but for collector's you may get some of them twice , at least I did, as they were coupled differently on other boxes or releases. The elvira segments were slightly different, but that perfect as I can never get enough. Bought a lot on amazon.

Here's some new stuff posted today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKrAXVsF6HE

Looks like the Macabre set too. They said in September maybe next year. There's always hope as Elvira's never been one to stay dead.

Announced yesterday:
Quote:
Elvira's Movie Macabre - 'Wild Women 4 Film Multi-Feature' DVD Set with 2 Never-Scene Episodes Available in stores from eOne on May 8th.

"Movie Macabre is a dream come true for horror fans" - Fangoria. Elvira: Mistress of the Dark is back with a frightfully funny multi-feature presentation of four well-rounded horror and B-movie classics, bursting with curvaceous excitement and women gone wild.

eOne Entertainment has scheduled a 2-DVD release titled Elvira's Movie Macabre - Wild Women 4 Film Multi-Feature. This includes 4 episodes, 2 of them never-before-seen:

Disc 1
Untamed Women
The Wild Women of Wongo (never-before-seen)
Disc 2
Hercules and the Captive Women
The Wasp Woman (never-before-seen)

You can scare this one up on May 8th. Cost is $19.98 SRP.

Makes sense that they'd pair them up as anyone buying one would buy the other. Don't know if that's a good sign or a bad sign for sales...

Looks like the DVDs are still coming. Announcement for Elvira's Movie Macabre - Giant Monsters

If it's like the Wild Women release we can expect 2 previously aired and two new episodes. There are only 5 previously aired episodes not released on DVD and we are still waiting for 3 more un-aired episodes. It is good news that we are going to get all of the 2010 season (plus the 6 un-aired) on DVD. I just hope they find a way to get Elvira's Movie Macabre started up again.

The Giant Gila Monster
Teenagers From Outer Space
Don't Look in the Basement
Manos, the Hands of Fate
A Bucket of Blood

The two-disc set pairs three movies from 1959 — “The Giant Gila Monster,” “Teenagers From Outer Space,” and “Attack Of The Giant Leeches” — with 1967’s “Monster From A Prehistoric Planet.”

I always forget about the lobster in Teenagers from Outer Space making it a monster movie not just aliens.

This will finish the current series right? Hopefully we'll be getting some more down the road. Cassandra Peterson also made an appearance on Oddities where she bought and wore a necklace made from teeth. Her own inner monster kid was always somewhat questionable in my book but most goths wouldn't even wear that thing so big props to her.

These still need to be released:

EPISODE 12 - DON’T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT

Tonight’s movie is a creepy case of the inmates running the asylum, peppered with Elvira's rules on how to survive a horror movie.

EPISODE 18- BUCKET OF BLOOD

Elvira decides to take the art world by storm as she screens this classic Corman clunker about a beatnik busboy whose attempt at sculpting causes people to mysteriously disappear.

EPISODE # 23– THE KILLER SHREWS

A hapless group flee from crazed Afghan hounds wearing rat masks while Elvira deals with a rodent infestation of her own.

EPISODE # 26 – MANOS, THE HANDS OF FATE

Join Elvira for this weeks high-brow episode of “Mistress-Piece Theatre” as she critiques the cinematic stinker, Manos, the Hands of Fate, the second worst movie of all time.
