Should I finish watching the puppet master series, or just give up now?

I made it my goal to watch the Puppet Master series, one of the few horror series' that I hadn't seen before. I was really enjoying things up through parts 4 & 5, even though I thought they weren't as interesting as parts 2 & 3. But then I watched Curse of the Puppet Master. God damn, that movie has completely killed my drive to complete this series. And after doing a bit of reading, it sounds like they may not improve all that much. Retro Puppet Master and Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys sound like they're on par with Curse, and Legacy is a fucking clip show!? I'm honestly thinking of just skipping straight to Axis of Evil. Will I be missing out on anything even remotely worthwhile by doing this?

They just get progressively worse IMO. The 1st 5 had David Allen's stop-motion animation and after that - the special effects are just the dolls turning or they cut in scenes from the 1st 5 to make them move.

They used footage from I-V to use for most (85%) percent of the puppet scenes for Curse only. Retro was a pretty good movie, Legacy I didn't care for, Vs Demonic Toys and Axis of Evil are good to watch, not great, but good.

Retro isn't as bad as Curse, but it's still not as good as the first 5. So that's your call. Legacy you can skip. Vs. Demonic Toys is cheesy fun, that I would say is overall better than Axis. Compared with Full Moon's current output though, even Demonic Toys 2, I wouldn't call Axis top shelf.

Once you've seen Charlie Spradling topless you can quit the series and not miss anything.

Watched all these no long ago. Hoping to see Axis of Evil tonight.

I'm not a fan of the third film myself. Don't mind Part 4 and 5 too much. Curse is pathetic, Retro sucks big time and I wouldn't even call Legacy a film. Puppet Master vs Demonic is better than those few but still isn't very good.

god damn, that was one of the highlights of the series, no doubt about it.

I guess I'll power through. Just knowing that Curse is the lowest its going to get, i think i'll keep going. but i think i'll do a lot of fast-forwarding through legacy, just to see whatever wraparound story they have. its too bad that axis isn't a return to form. i don't know where, but somehow i'd gotten the impression that it was fairly decent.
