Terror in the Swamp (1985)
How's this for Southern Fried Cinema? I just gave Terror in the Swamp it's first viewing, and while there are many flaws the Southern twang alone is worth the price of admission. I was laughing throughout just on the dialog alone. Yeah, it's terrible acting, very little gore (if you can even see what little there is) and for whatever reason the beast is a "Giant Nutra" when it's obvious it's really a Big Foot, at least to me it was. Oh, and let's not forget Crazy Sally - her role in the ending is great, haha. This should get some sort of DVD release.

This one didn't do much for me, and I love cheesy movies. Terror in the Swamp was just dull.
Gimme Boggey Creek II anytime

When I first started collecting horror movies on VHS as a kid this was one of the very first tapes that I bought, I remember finding it in the local Record Town and buying it along with IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA. I think the two cassettes together cost me like five weeks allowance!
Terrible movie overall, but it never failed to entertain me and it does hold a special place in my heart from having watched it dozens and dozens of times over the years. When Anchor Bay acquired the post-Corman New World catalog fifteen or so years ago this was mentioned as a title that they might put out, but sadly it never materialized. |

I know you were, just fooling around. There are some similarities between the two - the hard southern accents (like those annoying chicks camping) and the rednecks wearing overalls, but yours has the guys belly sticking out the whole time

It's a pretty bad film that I enjoyed immensely.

Gotta agree there. Terror in the Swamp was dull beyond words. I found the VHS years ago for like $1 and that was even too much. It was just really, really bad.
