The Demon (1980 - Uncut) DVD - 10/19

Not the greatest movie, but...

Quote:
On October 19, 2010 VCI Entertainment will issue Percival Rubens' The Demon (1980) on DVD.

Cameron Mitchell, star of Mario Bava s seminal giallo/slasher BLOOD AND BLACK LACE (1964) and THE TOOLBOX MURDERS (1978), plays Colonel Bill Carson a private investigator with psychic powers who is hired by a couple whose daughter was carried off into the night by an inexplicable outline of unknown terror. The Mother (Moira Winslow), who herself left to die, pleads with Mitchell after the police have turned up nothing. Can the psychic investigator find the daughter and stop the demon from adding to his killing spree?

Digitally Remastered & Restored. Uncut widescreen version.

DVD: amazon.com

I love this cheesy movie. uncut AND widescreen? Time to retire my old Diamond DVD.

***EDIT***

They made two versions of this film, one with nudity for overseas and one without for South Africa. Now I'm wondering if "restored" means the restored South African version ...

I caught this late night on TV back in the late '80's. After ignoring the VHS I've seen many times at the video rental store, I decided to stay up late...and I was reasonably intrigued. I actually liked it.
I may get this.

The Amazon pre-order listing shows the rating as being PG-13.

I've always wanted to see this, but the shoddy presentations on the PD sets turned me off. Now I can finally watch it in decent form.

I am looking forward to this - the picture and audio on the DVd I have is so poor that it is difficult to make out what is going on most of the time. Not the greatest movie? Perhaps not, but until I get a better version than the one I presently have, I have no way of telling.

I remember thinking that the opening attack and the final chase had promise...

I've never heard of this film. I might have to spring for the purchase. It sounds good.

How can this movie be PG-13 and uncut? That's like going into Mc Donalds and ordering a Big Mac with no meat. Not that I eat at MC Donald cause I don't! Unless if someone wants to invite me for a yummy shake! So is there anymore news on this release yet bueller, bueller?

Yeah, I'm confused as well. Amazon still lists it as being PG-13.
