probably buy them both but only if they have all the bonus features and are region free, tired of getting anchorbay blu's and them finding out the extras were all on the 'DVd but not on the "better" format

I might get the original someday if I see it cheap enough, but imagine the dvd is plenty enough for the next few years at least.
What are you expecting? It's an exploitation film! And the remake is a damn fine one.

In fact I thought the remake was better than the original. Great acting, brutal rape scene and satisfying as hell sequences of revenge.

The Blu-ray for the original film sounds surprisingly solid per the Blu-ray.com review, but I'll probably still hold off for this to hover down to $10 or less.

For sure; whoever thought we'd see such a piece of trash on the format? It's truly arrived

The remake is great. The kills are brutal. That's all ya need. Watched it 3 times now ... worth it for sure.

just watched the remake. not bad. doesn't feel as sleazy as the first one (which isn't necessarily a point for or against either one). the lead actress was decent, and definitely easy on the eyes. hopefully this doesn't kill her career the way it did camille keaton's. i don't think it was the right decision to follow the men after the attack. the empathy you've built up for the character over the first half of the film kind of dissipates, since she's off camera for what feels like a long time. and who wants to follow these guys around anyways? they're slime. the story's not about them, its about her. i enjoyed it, but it could have been better.

Best Buy will have the '78 Blu-ray for $9.99, and that's just my price to edge me to buy the bitch.

They also list it in their list of 20 Blu-ray exclusives to Best Buy. An error, or some exclusive content?

They have the remake out at my Best Buy today, $14.99 for the blu-ray.

I broke down and got it cuz I had a $10 reward cert. burning through my pocket. Almost grabbed Last House on the Left, but figured I'd wait for early reviews here first.

Plus, if I can sell my ME of the original for $10 or so, I'll probably be getting that Blu Tuesday as well.

I'm hoping amazon matches the $9.99 for I Spit On Your Grave. I'm heading to Best Buy this week to pick up a few of these exclusives, I don't want to have to make another trip next week. Plus, I already have it pre-ordered from amazon.

I just notified amazon of the price. Anyone else who has it pre-ordered there should take a second to do so as well. You just go to the item's page, scroll down to the Product Details, and click "tell us about a lower price".

So I was on crack when I mentioned I shouldn't have read that review.
This is my genre, and sleazy sexplotation never gets old. Still not sure why we stick with the assholes and the escape is never explained, but wow were those some great fucking kills! Very entertaining redo.

It was done to put some suspicion on Matthew. Maybe he was the one fucking with them? Out of guilt obviously.

I actually like how she just disappears and for that one month those assholes think they are in the clear.
