- Pat Hingle (Eva Axén) the first murder in Suspiria.

The shotgun blast in Maniac and Rhodes getting torn apart by the zombies (not really a slasher) in day of the Dead are tied for my number 1 spot.

Anyone remember L.G. (Lou Peters) in TCM 2? Chop-Top hit him in the head what seemed like a million times and he still didn't die! Than, Leatherface did a little carving on him at the hideout and he was still alive! But alas, he finally croaked (sadly). L.G. was one tough hombre. I know this may be off topic, but I always thought that L.G. was a likeable character. He didn't deserve what he got in TCM 2, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, I guess. i really liked the first death/torture scene in Opera. those pins under the eyes are brutal.

In Friday the 13th Part 7 when the girl gets slammed on a tree in her sleeping bag. I read that in the uncut version, the scene is longer.

How about the tent scene in Jason Goes to Hell (unrated version) where the chick gets split in half? Yeah, that was cool.

That has long been a favorite in my college suite here

Halloween 2 had some cool & brutal murders. The nurse lifted into the air on the scalpel, the boiling face bit, hammered skulls etc.

Amityville 2's shotgun mayhem was good. My favorites have gotta be: - any of the Maniac, The Burning, or The Prowler murders, they were awesome.
The axeing in Nightmares In A Damaged Brain.
The hook scene in The Mutilator (ouch!)

. . . . but the clear winner is . . . . . Daniella Doria's razor blade thru nipples / eyes / stomach scene in New York Ripper!

I think I'll go with that one, too.

Though the shotgun in Maniac (not really a "slash" kill, is it?) and the shower pitchfork in the Prowler are top-notch Savini SFX.

Suspiria's opening kill rocks, too.

A stripper getting her throat slit and her ass pulverized with a meat tenderizer in The Gore Gore Girls.

The ice-skating phantom in that scary "hag" mask in CURTAINS who chased down a frightened skater with a scythe. Really intense sequence.
