Your Top Ten Horror Films Of 2010

I have to say this was a pretty good year horror wise. Not the greatest mind you, but there were more than enough to create a solid top ten list for me. Now there a still several films I have yet to see (Piranha, Let Me In, Hatchet 2, Last Exorcism) and if they live up to the hype I will amend this list.

My Top Ten Horror Films Of 2010
1) Rec 2
2) Human Centipede: First Sequence
3) Frozen
4) Lake Mungo
5) A Serbian Film
6) Dread
7) Paranormal Activity 2
8) Suck
9) After.Life
10) The Descent 2

Hmmm...looks like i've only seen 6 this year.

The only one I'd want to put on a top 10 list would be:

1. Piranha 3D

Of the rest, here they are in descending order:

2. Daybreakers
3. Splice
4. The Wolfman
5. The Crazies
6. A Nightmare on Elm Street

Tying this in with the Box Office Horror: 2009 vs 2010 thread, I am disturbed by how many genuinely bad films are making some of these lists. I guess 2010 was a pretty bad year for horror.

Agreed. So many average movies came out this year, saw nothing that really blew me away.

I wouldn't consider any films on my list "genuinely bad films".

I count three, plus a pointless remake (not The Crazies) and Paranormal Activity 2, neither of which I will ever see.

I can't agree with that. Well which three would you say are genuinely bad films?

In no order whatsoever:

Piranha 3D
Human Centipede
Frozen (best I've seen this year)
Wolfman (great remake)
The Crazies (decent redo)
Daybreakers (loved the first 2/3rds, poor last act)
Descent 2 (shouldn't exist, but fun as a "what if" story)

I need to see Triangle, that looks promising and my hopes are pretty high.
Also need to see Suck, which will happen soon as I own it, just haven't got to watch it yet. I doubt that's very horror though, looks like comedy to me.

Maybe you didn't like them but calling them genuinely bad films? There is no way I can agree with you there. Especially when it comes to Serbian Film.

I think we have to agree to disagree then. I have so many problems with A Serbian Film that I don't even know where to begin.
