Thanks for posting but I think it looks really shitty actually and boring as well. De Mornay seems miscast and I did not find the trailer engrossing in the least, it seemed like a watered down version of all the other 'people trapped by rednecks and humiliated' films that have come out recently. The production values reminded me of a made for tv drama. Then again, I watched the original and that had little impact either, I understand it's a cult classic but just not to my tastes. More power to those who like it though, different strokes for different folks.

Definitely not the best trailer I've ever seen,(aside from the song played the last minute or so-creepy)but I'm intrigued. I think De Mornay is phenomenal, (so sweet and accommodating one minute, venomous and ice-cold the next, she's the only actress that can send a chill down my spine when she comes on-screen).
The original Mother's Day is a favorite cult film of mine, and while I would have preferred that they cast an OLD lady as mom, (Estelle Parsons of Roseanne would have been perfect),Rebecca will rock this. Using the original's tagline as one of her lines was a great nod to the original,as long as they didn't film that solely for the trailer. I remain optimistic, based on Ms. Demornay's screen presence alone. It doesn't look straight to video, just sort of artsy.

De Mornay was brilliant in The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, great performance.

And don't forget that miniseries of The Shining. I remember when she was in a relationship with Leonard Cohen and thinking This lady is cool.

This looks so little like the original I'm surprised they bothered to retain the title.I've liked DeMornay since RISKY BUSINESS but she looks better than her material here. Then again, she frequently IS better than her material.

The more I think of it, that trailer looks more like a really bad remake of 'Desperate Hours' with Mickey Rourke.

Remake in name only. Why bother calling it Mother's Day?

I'm sorry, but The Shining miniseries was so bad that it had me in stitches. Terrible, terrible adaptation. Anyway, I'm sure she'll be good in Mother's Day. I liked the original and I doubt that the remake can really capture the atmosphere of that film but hopefully they can do something good with it. I'm sure that if it wasn't called Mother's Day then it would be unrecognizable as a remake.
