Machete Kills (news)

Robert Rodriguez just took to the Hall H stage to reveal that Machete is set to return to theaters with two sequels (as have been teased since the very first Grindhouse faux-trailer).

"Both 'Machete' sequels have been greenlit," says Rodriguez, though added that the first one is currently the only one guaranteed to have a full-length film involved. The third will exist (for the time being) only in trailer form.

To be titled Machete Kills, the sequel will include fake footage for the third film, now titled Machete Kills Again... In Space!. Rodriguez promises that it will include space babes and a lightsaber style weapon.

No further details are currently available, but Danny Trejo is certain to return to the title role.

The third film with Machete in space sounds great!

Machete in space will be second only to Jason X.

I was very disappointed in, but did note hate, the first; so I'm not terribly excited but more than willing to give it another try nonetheless.

I enjoyed the first film so I'll definitely check out the second. As for the third one taking place in space, that just sounds lame.

I feel the same way, and I desperately wanted to love it. I have even put the Blu back on the shelf at 2 closing blockbusters because I felt $8.99 was too much for me to pay for it.

I was hoping for more from Machete as well but liked it enough to buy the blu ray. I'll certainly see the next films as well.

just watched Marked for Death for the first time last weekend, and at the beginning Danny Trejo has a small part as a mexican thug being chased by Seagal. Interesting how things come full circle, with Seagal having a cameo in Trejo's film.

anyway, i'm very happy to see more Machete.

Yeah the first one wasn't great, but I'll give these sequels a chance. I personally think out of all the homage to exploitation films, Hobo with a Shotgun was the best, where's my sequel to that film!

The first one was fun, and Jason X is my favorite of the F13 films, so I'm actually looking forward to Machete in Space

That is interesting.

Marked for Death is hands down one of best drug cop films of the early 90s era and Seagal's best film, probabley best non under siege success for him.

Interesting how films that aren't all that good get sequels.
