Boggy Creek (2010)

Yup, the remake.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1493798/

No release date yet but there has been a Teaser trailer for nearly a year:

Looks like it will go direct-to-DVD.

Thanks for sharing, I love these bigfoot films. I was just watching the original last night. This looks like it will have some good moments, but it seems a lot like one of those typical 'good looking teens knocked off by a slasher' film with a bigfoot substituted for the slasher.
The original was influential and pretty decent, I am looking forward to this.

My take exactly. The charm of the original was the documentary vibe, which was furthered immensely by all the authentic local people. It gave dramatic heft to a lot of moments that would have been indescribably cheesy in a less convincing context.

This looks like your typical Hollywood slasher flick--slick, disposable, and entirely devoid of soul. And am I the only who's sick of every modern horror flick focusing on characters who are less than 25 years old?

I bet they try the old "found footage"/hand held camera schtick which is your basic Hollywood flick (as shape22 noted).

I agree-it looks like another excuse to have a slasher film, but instead of a masked psycho, it's Bigfoot. That aside, I also love Bigfoot films..even if they are bad. At the very least, I'd rent it.

Yes. Me too. It can't be much worse than half the other ones we've seen.

Speaking of which, when will we see an official release of Night Of The Demon? If there's interest in a Boggy Creek remake surely there's potential profit there.

Is this for sure? I love the film and have waited patiently for a decent release, though my VHS rip is decent.
I could not find official word anywhere about any pending release for Night Of The Demon(1980) when I did an online search.

I believe it's mentioned on the Code Red website when you click on "news". You have to dig into the older posts.

I saw Boggy Creek(2010) last night after picking it up for cheap at Wal-Mart.
While the pace was just too slow and the acting was abysmal, it did have some creepy moments, truly unique Bigfoot creature designs, and an ending that I did not anticipate at all.
The sound was mixed in poorly though, with a loud, obnoxious soundtrack often overwhelming the dialogue. Sounds like beer cans being popped open also were louder at times than the actors speaking.
Also, the director seemed to linger quite a bit on the youthful cast, who were really not much to look at and not what I'd call 'hot'. Oddly enough for a B-movie, there was an absence of nudity too.
Some of the random Bigfoot attack scenes did remind me stylistically of 'Night of the Demon' which was cool.
I'd give it a 6/10.

It really could have been a lot worse overall though, it should be mentioned that this film is nothing like the original.
