Student Bodies + Jekyll And Hyde Together Again Double Feature

http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Studen...Blu-ray/23079/

From Legend Films. How awesome is that? Here's hoping The Sender and Phase IV on Blu will follow

Oooooooooooooo! Student Bodies on Blu-ray? A-W-E-S-O-M-E

The Skull should be awesome in HD too.

Hopefully they'll release The Sender and some of the others too.

Now there's a double feature I would be interested in. Lots of good releases coming in May!

The Skull is quite good, Cheat Death is just sorta OK. Unfortunately nudity was shot for it but never made any known cut, so that would have put it over for sure. Still, The Skull is reason enough for me.

I'll pick up Student Bodies / Jekyll and Hyde probably too.

Interesting. I bought Jekyll and Hyde already, but only cloned Student Bodies. Not sure I need the upgrade, but maybe if the price is right. How about releasing some other shit Paramount that hasn't even made it to DVD yet (Boogens, Night School, The Keep, some more Friday the 13th Blu's)!

Can't see the picture being any different than the dvds, i really think they will just slap the dvds on a blu-ray disc. I can tell ya, it wont be no upgrade....

Yeah, you may be right there. I just saw it was originally distributed by Paramount, not sure what kind of transactions happened over the years.

Both films look quite good in HD, 1080p with MPEG-4 AVC encodes. There's natural film grain present and both transfers appear very filmlike. I didn't notice any DNR or edge enhancement.

We don't get lossless or uncompressed audio, unfortunately. The audio is basically just the same as the old DVD releases: standard lossy Dolby 2.0 Mono. Both audio tracks are quite clear though.

Legend did not port over the theatrical trailer that was on the old DVD release, for whatever reason.

I don't know how the old DVD transfer of Jekyll And Hyde Together Again compares here, but I'd wager that this is a definite upgrade over that.

If you're a big fan of Student Bodies, this is the undeniably the best the film has ever looked in the home market. The old DVD transfer looked quite good (albeit interlaced) but there's far more detail to be seen here.

Blu-ray.com review: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Studen.../23079/#Review

I can't really agree with their trashing of the Student Bodies transfer, but they are often quite anal with their reviews.
