R.I.P. Yvette Vickers 1928-2011?

She was a playboy playmate and b-movie actress in such films as "Attack of the 50ft Woman" and "Attack of the Giant Leeches".
A very sad and lonely end, it would seem.

Very sad to hear of her passing. I f*cking HATE some of the reports out there who make "FOUND MUMMIFIED" the attention-grabbing headline. Completely unnecessary.

Wago70, I agree with you totally-journalistic sensationalism at its most extreme, it seems the identity of the deceased was secondary to reporting that the body was found 'mummified'.
Some of the comments on Yahoo! were beyond insensitive, incredible really. A sad reflection on society.

Truly ghastly news. It's too bad she so obviously succumbed to anti-social behavior and paranoia. Finally now she can rest in peace.

I'll just concentrate on this mental image instead: http://www.freeweb.hu/playmate/html/5907.html

She was a lovely lady and a talented actress.I'd rather she be remembered for that and not the sad details of her death.Still,it begs the question:What happened ? It was just a few years ago when she was doing the audio com for the DVD of 50 FOOT WOMAN,she was doing autograph shows, then she just disapears and nobody notices for months ? Was this neglect or indifference ? Did she WANT to disapear ? This is a sad tale,I wonder if we'll ever know all the details.Whatever happened,Rest In Peace.

This is very sad. Old people should not have to live alone and if they prefer to they should at least have someone who will check in on them regularly.

X-Human-Thanks for that photo, back when women looked like women rather than anorexic waifs-but to each his own.
As for what happened, I don't know if she had children, family etc...but if she suffered from a form of dementia or perhaps Alzheimer's that could go a long way towards alienating friends who didn't understand the nature of the disease.
Anyway, it's sad that some people have to die in such lonely and destitute circumstances.
