I have my doubts Media Blaster will ever release the SPECIAL EDITION version of it. It's too bad since I really wanted to listen to that commentary track. Oh well.
I haven't seen Megalon in quite a few years. I love it, though. Screw the haters I think it's good ol' fashioned goofy fun! |

Looks like GODZILLA VS. MEGALON is now in stock at Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ag=cinema09-20 I have a feeling I'm going to buy this while waiting for the blu, just in case...

This is one of the only Godzilla titles I don't currently have on DVD but I'm still going to wait for the blu. I saw this film in the theater when I lived in Minnesota and then again when I moved to California. It played on a double bill with Giant Spider Invasion.

It is VERY tempting to buy this DVD, but I'm going to take my chances on waiting for a blu-ray. I've waited this long, another few months or whatever won't kill me.

I caved - I've been waiting for this release forever it seem. I hoping it's remastered like the others and not a full screen, cropped mess.

$11 is not a bad deal considering it's the worse Godzilla movie ever.

Godzilla's Revenge is far worse than Megalon.

Yes, Godzilla's Revenge is certainly the worst. Even worse than Son of Godzilla.
However Megalon did make for one of the best MST3k episodes ever.

Same here. A favorite of mine since I was a little boy. I was reading some of the reviews on Amazon and one of the reviewers states that this is an uncut widescreen disc.

I actually liked Son of Godzilla. The ending scene of G holding onto his pillsbury dough boy of a son is quite touching. LOL
Good to hear the Megalon disc is uncut! I'm glad the DVD at least got released. |

Reportedly there are Megalon DVDs in the mix that contain all of the extras. The case and UPC are all the same and it's only when you take a look at the disc that you'll know.
I actually live near enough in Illinois to take that gamble of picking up a disc but I'm still going to have to wait for a Blu-ray. I've learned to never bet against Media Blaster, no matter how much of the odds are in your favor.

Official word is that the replication plant made a second printing of discs to sell and these were from the Special Edition masters: http://www.scifijapan.com/articles/2...ix-up-mystery/
Semi-good news I suppose as that means they sold more than they were initially expecting.
